Most people would be happy with that Brett.

Looking good Brett

With where you have your turbo and exhaust (Low down, in the middle at the front) I don't think a std Clubman wouldn't help much if at all.

I have tried a Clubman front on mine and because a std Clubman front curves under (the same as a roundnose) to meet the front subframe front mounts it doesn't help. So you would need to create a lower valance much like you are for the roundnose. The Maguire style front is a different matter though, if you can live with arches

Lots of space elsewhere with a Clubman front just not low down, in the middle at the front

With the clubby front it gives enough room higher up to have the turbo on a top mount type manifold
It would also be an excuse to crack out the tig and set about building a proper manifold
I would even go for a different turbo while im at it, got my eyes an a couple Holsets *happy*
And could chuck the GT30 on the skyline or get rid to the skyline lot

or a clubman front with a splitter? just change the mounting points for the front end to give more room cut the section out. seen this done quite a few times on 16v mini forum.

on my r100 i have the lower mounting for the bumper about 30mm further forward to push the bumper out for an IC to go in there as well.

if i go clubby i will definitely build a new manifold, it would be the only reason for the clubman front, i want to keep it round nose for the reason Dave said afew posts back,
i have done quite a few things building this that i have not seen done before, when i set out i was told by a few you cannot get a b series vtec in a standard lenght front...
yeah well fuck them because i got a transfer box and cable shift in there too..
if i had gone for a 'normal' sized turbo it would sit nicely infront of the radiator.. however a 50lbmin-1 turbo is not small, even with this i may want a bigger turbo in the long run,

infact i want to pull this gt30 off and fit a holset hx35/40
im confident i can cover the turbo as it sits now, the only problem is going to be for the road
i could do alot of things, that gt30 is getting spyed up for the skyline though

Thats just too close fitting it all in standard round nose to even think bout fitting a larger front or clubby front! Keep going to keep it all tucked in what u got!!

How much extra room do you have if you bring the turbo flange up to the bottom of the head flanges? Looks like you could tuck it back another inch is so? And possibly get the downpipe exiting behind the front panel left hand indicator.

That's essentially what I did with mine, it was close to 50mm saved compared to being lower down the block. It also helped with keeping the turbo oil return above oil level in the sump.

There is space there that can be used but the dipstick lug and pipe sits behind the exhaust turbine, also the subframe would be in the way of any down pipes, the indicators were removed because the housings fouled on the subframe( to give exam0le of how little pace there is)

I can only use pics that are already here on tm but this one shows part of the subby
