i cant think of another easyish way to save some weight other than the doors.

Can understand why you wouldnt want to swap them though.

Simon im fairly certain mk3 windows will fit (as they were in my shell) and to the untrained eye will look the same apart from not having the piano hinge. I think ive still got the windows if you want them.

Not all mk1 rear 1/4s had piano hinges mate, I have 1 that has the later fittings (2 lugs) I had a go one night at putting a mk3 none opening window and it was to big for the hole. I would like to keep the piano hinge as its mk1 *smiley*

The doors will stay as there, is there is lots more places where i can save weight. Like some Alloy seat mounts.

thanks simon.

Ah I didn't know that, looks like the tab type hinge came in about '66.

If you're frames are in good condition they should come apart easily enough.

Hi Simon,

I recomend the P4P 4mm Hardcoated Policarbonate...
It's much more resistente to chemical and mechanical risk and solar aggressions
I have a Set of front and rear sides, i ask them to make the windows with round corners, they are top work.

Where did you get the new seals from or did you swap them?

The seals was new ones they are from MS.
I give them little cuts in the inside, and the window is revnuted to the door in the interior with a little spacers just the enough tolerance to fit the new seals.

If you mean the seals inside the frames, I just used the old ones. But looking here P/N 17 is available by the meter.

Are you just gonna fit the plastic boot n bonnet for Avon? Be a shame to spoil what your car is, but knowing you you'll do it nicely and the car will just get better as usual

I seriously doubt it!

Ha, my target was 580kg, now its 550.

I'll stop at 550kg on the grounds that after that it starts getting too expensive!
