Today I got early to get the mk1 back on its 4 wheels and fit the new alloy fuel lines, what a ball ache! It was like that game show, “The cube” but with no simplify. Well they are in and I am sort of happy with how it’s turned out.

The hose setup was 1.40Kg that was without all the Bolts and P clips. I held the new lines in with plastic p clips and alloy bolts.

That’s the to-do list almost done, apart from 1 job left to do and that’s finish plumbing in the line lock into the rear brakes.

I made mine, and cost about £80 for 5 windows. I managed to reverse my mk1 window frames without too much hassle. On the hinge there are 4 tiny cross head screws, remove the 2 innner ones, then the hinge pulls off and the glass just pops out. ~I know what you mean though, as finding good condition mk1 window frames is difficult. ![]() When I got my shell, it had later opening windows fitted, so may be an option to modify a later set? They are a pig to work with and if i do it it will be with the set thats on the car ![]() Edited by madmk1 on 28th Dec, 2011. I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Have you thought about a set of fibre glass or carbon fibre doors? There a huge saving with the polycarb windows.

No mate i will stay with the MK1 doors, I only what to do mods that will still keep the car looking the same. I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Simon im fairly certain mk3 windows will fit (as they were in my shell) and to the untrained eye will look the same apart from not having the piano hinge. I think ive still got the windows if you want them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel
