What’s the total wrought down to now?

I think the front lip looks pretty good. Black was the right choice rather than body colour.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Yea the front lip is way to square to suit being body colour. I’m still not keen but it does serve a purpose.

Well I got some scales second hand but I think they are duff as the highest reading was 468kg which I am 100% sure it is not, so I need to re calibrate the scales or weigh it on another set.

Not sure Dave. I’d left before the awards were given out.

Sounds odd but honestly the seats are incredibly comfy. A world away from cheap bucket seats.

The sparcos used to make my back ache after an hour or so and i don't suffer from any back problems. Tilletts i have no problem after spending all day in them.

Who wants to guess the weight? It was around 550kg before I did subframe, rear brakes, front end, seat etc.

I wish it was sub 500!

It’s come in at 509kg with 2/3rd of a tank of fuel.

I’m planning to add an extinguisher setup but I reckon I can squeeze it into the 500’s with some more work.

A couple of in car videos. I know people have been asking to see a few for a while!

Goodwood https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_Qtj-IR_H4&t=14s

Castle Combe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ2E55fo6rM&t=20s

Car has been running really good lately, although the turbo fell apart at Combe. All back and running again, back out on the 14th at brands for a trackday.

Am planning to go for it next year and enter the fastest mini race. First ever race, no pressure!! Have ordered a load of kit that i have no idea what i am doing with, slicks, fire extinguisher, racewear etc.

Nice one jonny.
The last few years of upgrades , tweaks and setting up and also all the hours of work that's gone into it has certainly paid off. It's a very well set up car which is why it is so quick and well behaved. It's a credit to you and it's great that your going to have a go competing with it.

But always remember, keep it rubber side down.👍

Nice to see another car being used ‘properly’ on track. Looks really quick and very stable.

Cheers guys! It has been suggested I should have a go at a few sprints first before he race just to get comfortable with competition stuff. I’ve never done anything in a car before, just bikes.

Dave, it is the 8-9th August next year. Plenty of time to get the car dialled in hopefully.

duno if its just because your on a wide track but it looks like its real progressive and easier to handle compared to the turbo mini i drove. Will be great to see how you do in a race. Does it qualify for the mini libre series? that'd be interesting too

It doesn’t suffer to badly from torque steer. It will tend to wander about a bit but it’s not as noticeable on a track. In the car as a driver/passenger it is.

No they only allow steel shells to mig/7 spec and non turbo.

Why don't you race in the welsh sports and saloons for a few rounds, it's cheaper entry fee than most, and good clean racing.

Thanks Jim, having had a look into it, it looks like I wouldn’t have a problem entering. I’ll see if I can get the car sorted and have a go early next year. That or something similar.

Another little GoPro clip at brands. Worked out I am doing regular low 58s but plenty more time to come of that.
