Good stuff mate, I'd leave out the bottom two wok bolts. Makes sorting the clutch in situe so much easier, and once the engine is in the mounts the wok wont go anywhere. |

I've sloted the lowest bolt hole and put a hex bolt in, hopefully it will be accessible. I might whip the other one out though... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

come on andy why isnt it in ??? I still need to test for oil pressure and open up the pot joint holes in the frame as I've assembled my shafts of the car... Would be good to see it in the bay this week. I've given up pushing to get it done for a deadline. It's done when it's done. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Because a fully assembled shaft doesn't fit through the standard hole in the subframe. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

filled the engine up with oil tonight and spun it over on the starter. The good news is 40psi oil pressure, the bad news is oil pouring out of the 3 & 4 inlet port and a bit in the centre exhaust port. I'm guessing the valve guides are loose in the head. Fuck. More work, money and delay. Bloody minis... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

What if they just filled through loose guides when you filled the engine ? (Still a head out job but at least the head is not shot.) How about letting it warm up ? Maybe the oil migrated through capillarity of a very dry guide ? Rusty by nature

The engine is still sat on the trolley. I'm happy enough with the oil pressure.
