I put the drivers in Paul, but connected the Fidle to a permanant live on the bottom of the fan,

I think this has back feed the ECU which cooked the diode up to 12v, which fell off and shorted to the case... which seems to have killed somthing on the main MS board, which is shorting out my bench PSU ehen on the stim (with or without the processor)

normally I would have "measured twice and cut once" but I was working on site last week and left my multimeter in the works car and it was getting dark and I wanted to get it done etc...

Silly Boy!

gonna drop it to work in a bit and get a meter and have a poke around, shouldnt be a problem to sort that, worst case if I have killed the processor card, its a good excuse to drop in an MS3 processor, then I can log to a card...

ok sweat over I think!

D12 was short circuit, I think it must have been an emf from the fan thats knocked it out in which case D12 did its job a treat,

Ive fired it up un the stim less D12 and it seems happy, just need to ut all the mods back on now....

I think the only other danger is that the stepper chip on the MS2 daughter card is fed from that point,

yeah, the relays's clicking,

also I pulled the relay and stuck a bit of wire direct to the pump, pump just makes a bit of a thud as the windings energize and the wire gets warm, its knocked the FP fuse out too.

I'm not supprised the FP has died as its the on on there from the RR day, just irritating that it chooses that moment to pack in completly,

D12 just protects the 5V regulator from over-voltage on the 12V side. It shouldn't cook on a flyback surge.
D19 is the one that is supposed to protect the CPU from over-voltage at the 5V end, but is worthless (IMO) due to its low power rating.
But D12 is hardly a high rated item either.....

Is it actually the fuel pump stuck of the relay/CPU trying to drive it ???

EDIT - Ignore the last line, posted before reading yours.

yep definatly the pump, just been out and connected the pump direct to the battery in both polarity's.

I did move the pump the other day and add a pre filter, I bet a bit of hose has dislodged and gone in the pump, although its been running since then,

whay I think happened with the diode Rod is that wher ethe Tip120 is connected to the 12v rail via a diode thats where the fly back has gone to, foolishly I'd connected it to the reg side of the MOV.

not really, work has been a nightmare this year so Ive not had a chance to do anything on it.

Ive got an MS3 to go on so I can go sequential spark and injection...

Also the Plenum is leaky soi'm going to do a carbon one ala Will_h.
