Ok so I have had Friday and also Monday off to swing the spanners, the gearbox is built and finally the clearances in tolerance.

Took a drive to see Turbo Phil and collect the head that he has had a little fiddle with...to make it flow some more, how does he know? It's tested 👍

Thanks Phil

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

and its alive.

This was the first try after building oil pressure... very happy chappy.

Souding good Graham. Did you start it in gear? Just with the speedo going up.

That's a shame, I was looking forward to seeing your car again. It was a great weekend last year. I was quick to get a ticket knowing that they would all sell fast.

And yours was a missile!

So anyway, I have driven around the block and I have some clutch judder when I pull off. It's the same back plate and flywheel I have used for years, Which drove fine before. I have fitted an ap racing friction plate and orange spring this time, both new, could it be these? Or do I have to get bedded in first?

It felt like a missile on track last year when I was running the ph3 cam, it pulled well over 7k revs but not very usable on the road so I have the ph2 in at the moment. Superb all round cam.

When I fit a new full friction plate I ride the clutch for a good mile but not too much to cook it and that soon takes the edge off and beds it in but it will naturally iimprove with time. I run a paddle which is normal to judder with a light flywheel. I would like to try the 6 fingered paddle to see if that's any smoother.
See you at Blyton.

I was looking and the ap racing plates are slightly larger I think so I wonder if it needs a bit of use as it riding on a part that hasn't been used before... not sure I might just swap it back to the standard plate tonight
