Took the plenum work today.. welded on the dump valve tube

Cut off the pressure valve housing and sanded it down to plug the valve hole

Welded the plug and also the threaded hole not now needed

Cut the remaining relief valve housing off the air intake casting

Got home and decided to make a new top engine steady bracket, bolting it through the bulkhead and turbo box side

Cut the plenum inlet off to turn it round

Tig welded the inlet pipe in the opposite direction to the turbo outlet

Nice work, I'm sure you've checked but is that hose from the plenum going to clear the carb? Looks close but might just be the photo angles.

Mike... as you pointed out the inlet doesn't clear the carb.. what a plonk I didn't check it !! Need to lengthen it by 40mm now to clear..... Also need to lower the dump tube as its too close to the scuttle.. Ah well back to work....... give me something to do tomorrow...

If I had an AC tig welder at home I would start modding... But I have to do it in in my own time.
The odd own Job is OK...

Gave up trying to find a turbo carb. .. going to mod the standard hif 44 .... so stripped the carb and took loads of photo's. ... need to block off the emission feed and overflow pipe.. Instead of blanking with a tube and bolt I have removed the brass tubes , cleared out the holes with a slightly larger drill and I am going to TIG weld the holes up then dress down....
