There's a fair bit more space under the bonnet line in the clubby, also this is a reduced height civic rad, tbh it could have gone about 3inch lower, its just one of the front end mounts was on the way and a cba to change it

Car torn back down and frame finally done, comes out at a respectable 17.2kg for the bare frame

Cheers guys,despite the whole thing being a bit of a lash up jn relative terms, I must say if it works I will be pleased most by the pedal box as its turned out better than I thought and saved me a heap of money over a proper remote set up.

Well its been a while, basically there has been some decision making over the finish, unfortunately I have decided to paint it myself and with rattle cans too lol

Basically even against my own better judgment I got a job lot of 96 tins of Leyland white for just over a 100 quid and decided the crappy look will fit with my budget build perfectly.

Anyway for starters I turned the car over and after some sealing and stonechip, painted the underside by brush in a gloss white industrial epoxy paint.

Whilst it was upside down I painted the underside of the parcel shelf

And then turned it back over to final fit the bulkhead box

and there was a carbon fibre panel to go in the hole to take the clocks which I decided was

a-a shit idea cos it was too small

b-a shit idea cos carbon fibre looks gay

c-a shit idea cos the steering wheel obscured all the gauges

so ive binned it in favour of this, clocks are going in pods on the dash rail

I need to consult the experts but if the paints thick enough I may knock it all back with 2000 grit at the end ans buff it-maybe

Blimey thats a good deal.. whered ya get 96 for 100? Ive painted 2 minis with cans n theyve come out pretty good after a slight wet n sand n buff up! Looks good!!

Got the cf roof glued on this aft too, mercifully this has a big scratch down it so will be painted to disguise any trace of carbon

Just remembered actually, I left all the steel bits at the powder coaters over 6 weeks ago lol, I better go check on them

2000 and a buff up will do wonders on a 'home' paint finish! Just be careful on corners/edges obviously.

Probably not broken, just lacking time and motivation.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, I favour a compressor and satin black myself for a quick and easy paint job, plus it suits my car haha. And is easily touched up.
