I'd double up the shelves and get a bit more strength in them

yes; I can just imagine how much stuff you are going to pile up on that conti board and the resultant sagging

Probably not a bad Idea to be fair. The board I got was only £8 for the lot as it was off cuts. I'll keep bobbing down to see if they get any more of a similar size and get it cut to size.

Think of it like double bagging when you are shagging a girl you wouldn't take to meet your mum.

Right done some actual work on the car!

Changed the Minitastic springs for some low mileage cones and adjustarides.

Pulled the fuel tank and separate pump setup out to replace with an MPI tank with integrated pump.

Rebuilt my carburettor (good job I bought another turbo carb as my dashpot was damaged)

Made a start building my gearbox

When my clutch is done I need to get the rotating assembly balanced up then I need to crack on and get the engine built up. I'll have to pick the block, pistons etc up from casa BENROSS first!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

A nice clean gearbox case.... looking good.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I had the outside surfaces of the case shot blasted then the inside was a combination of swarfega patio cleaner & jetwash then a going over with some gunwash thinners.

All the gear stuff that I have re-used has had a soak on some paraffin and a good brush, then liberally applied oil during the build.

Cheers Rick.

Slight change of plans too. Going to use my mirage manifold setup with mirage hybrid T2 and the intercooler setup that Nic used to have (only had it since about 2009!).

I reckon it's very doable if he takes his finger out of his sphincter. It doesn't need much more than the engine fitting to get it on the road.

Should be ready Rob. However I'm not setting deadlines. I want to do things right so am not rushing and bodging just to get it there.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Did a little bit more tonight. Sorted laygear end float, got double roller bearing retainer shimmed up and installed, got my assistant (our lass) to stand on box whilst I nipped up the pinion nut, however she wasn't heavy enough so had to get her to push on roof trusses! lol.
Built the speedo housing with the right worm and pinion to give an accurate(ish) speedo and fitted the oil pickup properly.

Also tidied up the garage after all the carnage at the weekend lol.

Bollocks! ATB grinds on the diff casing! Doesn't matter which side I shim it up on! Time for Andy's powerfile at the weekend I think!
