My money says they are the same Max Speeding rods from China but with a different laser etch on them. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

So my SA1071 engine build has a set of Williams rods in. He doesn’t live far from me, the first set were a little out on the weights, the second set were all very close. They are not light as you would want from a high end manufacture, but I needed a long rod to fit the SA short stroke crank without spending £1k.
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I think that about sums them up. Great value but may need a little fettling. Not as light as the big money rods so dubious benefit over standard A+ gear. Just don't be duped into paying over the odds for them! |

Agreed I only got them as I needed a non standard size. I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Think its important to take a step back sometimes and think about the application as well. If you were cheaping out on rods on a 800bhp 'jdm tight yo' 6-pot turbo id question your sanity. But the reality is our engines are piddly, and provided the holes are the rights sizes and everything is where its supposed to be, I see no reason to question the 'strength' of the rods in an a-series |

Hey man, totally agree, when your chasing every bit. But for most, in the grand scheme the Chinese rods will do a job
