That manifold looks mad! Look forward to seeing this finished.

That's looking epic. Does your mani clear the bulkhead without a box? I ran a similar mani on my mk2 golf turbo.

Clears bulkhead no problem and loads of space for downpipe.

The first manifold sat the turbo slightly to high and space for downpipe was compromised. The new one will hopefully aid power and work better with the higher compression ratio.

I just need to weld in a EGT sensor and fabricate the downpipe. I'm struggling to find a stainless T2 exhaust flange or CAD drawing though.

Mini in the Park, is the deadline. Hopefully a month before, as I'm going to run it in and map it without the turbo first, then add the turbo and fine tune.

Had a bit of a play tonight, I managed to get the oil return done, using a oil
Pickup pipe and some fluoro lined silicon hose. Still need to rotate the compressor housing and fabricate the actuator bracket. Just waiting for some better quality circlip pliers though.

After serverel years with standard Revolution wheels, I thought I'd treat the car to some new force wheels. Tooling was especially made for a 12x5 wheel with 1.5" outers for give a ET22 offset. This should hopefully reduce scrub radius and combat any torque steer.

Will that bit of silicone hose stand up to the temps of a cherry red manifold next to it?

I thought the same, so I've ordered some protective sleeving.

Just a thought from your other post, why run a 274 cam when its a road motor which you wont be using high revs, as you said you want driveable engine engine.

Also that manifold is amazing! Have you got enough room to route the oil drain further away from the mani?

Matt gets bored easily with engines!

We all know this engine will be coming out about 5 minutes after it's been run in for a straight cut box, a better turbo and 20psi+ of boost! So he may as well put a decent cam in it to start with! lol

Thats what I was thinking, and the reason I posted a thread on cam choice. I'm seriously thinking about sticking with the SW5. I also have a GT1752, but have decided on the T2, due too lack of revs and lag. I know the T2 isn't modern, but it's almost identical to the GT1548 and should be quite happy in this engine.

So what are we saying the 274, is not a road cam? Ive had the pleasure to drive Sw5, MG & Phase 2 in turbo @ the First 2 would be suitable for this engine. What's the 274 like, any real experience. It has 38deg overlap, 112LCA @ 248 inlet & 274 exhaust. It doesn't look to bad for bottom end, and should pull revs if needed. I suspect it's similar the the MG cam.

Anyway looks what's just arrived
