Robert, as much as I'd like for mine to be 540kgs, I reckon its got to be closer to 560-570kg, as its nowhere near as light as Nics!

ooops sorry matty ,i'll change it , i thought yours was lighter than nics now .

Cheers Robert. Mines going on another diet this year though. With my new TIG set im hoping to make most things out of ally. *happy*

If you want weights, then the TT2-7P is 550kgs and the Sprint is 720kgs, I weight 70kgs.

The Sprint only ran the normal road tyres.

1/4 mile times as follows

TT2 - 13.059 @ 105.15 (this is sat on the rev limiter for the last 200 yards or so
Sprint - 16.292 @ 83.94

I think the 60ft times were better last year as we had better tyres.

Somewhat late here, but hey...
Timing tickets from Santa Pod RWYB 11/6/1994. My car (AH Sprite - so RWD) running standard Metro setup but with gas-flowed head (standard valves), 9:1 compression, 9psi boost, no intercooler, slipping (standard) clutch, open diff, no tramp bars, Pirelli P5's. Car weighed 760kg, me 70kg. Best was my second run:
Reaction: .894
60ft: 2.460
1/8 9.829s, 73.07mph
1/4 15.188, 90.18mph

I later got a higher terminal speed of 92.18 - which from the formula in Vizard's book (and guessing the fudge factors) gave an estimated 130bhp.

1971 Austin (Healey) Sprite - running turbocharged since 1993

130 bhp on 9psi with a pretty much standard engine, sounds optimistic.

au contraire andy , with a good head , its feasable , the slipping a standard turbo clutch is correct for around 130bhp ..maybe it was a very cold day .

I would quite openly admit that the 130bhp sounded good - again this was only a calculated value from my best terminal speed. I put the car in the weighbridge at work the next day. Vizards book (1st edition of tuning A-Series) gives a formula, including fudge factors for different cars. As a blown Sprite is not included, I made an educated guess from the Spridget, Metro & Metro Turbo figures. Could easily be 10% wrong. And don't forget this is RWD - so not a Mini clutch, but a standard Spridget cover (6.5) with special plate for my Toyota gearbox.

For anyone datalogging.

Phil from Megalog viewer gave me a formula to calculate distance in feet based on speed vs time from datalogs.

Not all strips give a full 1/4 run breakdown, or you could use road testing to compare various split times when you dont have a timing slip.

Ideally it would be undriven wheel speed so no slippage, and a decent logging rate, ie at least 10hz

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will
