I had thebsame issue when the shield on the pickup sensor wasnt earthed at both ends. The issue then went away.

Just back from the RR.Managed to pull 170 bhp at 5700 with 17psi.However,peak torque was 160 lbf.ft. at 5000.So many changes since the last session but I suspect the 1.5 ratio rockers didn't help.
Two other issues - managed to set fire to the ex. manifold wrap when the manifold started glowing at full load 4000 rpm. Also a curious misfire at 4200,just for a moment, passing through, and the tacho dipped significantly,as if the megajolt/Edis had cut the signal.Anyone seen anything like this?Happened pretty consistently.
On a different note, managed to get a pair of Wolfies off ebay.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Quick update. After many problems with fuel blockages in the carb.I changed all the fuel lines to unleaded compatible flexis, added a filter just before the carb and now have all fingers crossed. Also replaced the 276 cam with a Piper ph2,advanced 3 deg and seem to have recovered peak torque at 4000 rpm.The clutch cried enough and was replaced with an Escort Mexico cover which is much stronger. Finally got back to Shakey this weekend and began to get the car to hook up.Recorded a best of 13.7/100 still with 2.0 sec 60 ft.All this without the Nitrous.Met Neil(sideways GTM) there, running around 11 secs all day (jeez!) and he gave me some good advice on burnouts. Also supercharged outlaws there, plus a guy with a Honda Vtec plus Nitrous in an oversized kart. Was next up on one run and I swear if the lane had been any narrower he would have hit the barrier on both sides.
Pic below is the car with the Wolfies now fitted 8-)

To my shame, there seem to be a lot more people know me than I know - I have a forgettory, not a memory.

Went to the hot rod drags at avon this weekend - stunning array of machinery from 200k cheque book jobs to fantastic home builds to rat rods like the jag engined rover from norfolk that was in a recent ppc mag.Anyway turned the gas on this time (25bhp shot) and still got crap 60 fts despite doing rolling burnouts almost to the staging line. Finally managed 13.007/106.5,so if I ever get it to launch properly a 12 is on. *Cloud 9*

Fantastic result, looks like heavy is the new light :)

Have you got the type 9 box fitted yet or are you still running the stock one?

Nice Job Steve. Hopefully I will be there soon, with a turbo Midget.

Where did you get your GT17 flanges? I still need to deal with that part of the setup. I like the look of you turbo flange and elbow wrapping under. Did you have that done or make it yourself.

Hi,I had a loose ring made up which the pipe fitted through, then drilled it to take the studs on the turbine outlet, finally I had the end of the elbow flared so the ring clamps this to the turbine.Jetex is the source of the U bend - 2 short 90 bends welded together,in mild steel, the rest is s/s all from Jetex

Seems a long time since I updated this.Having put some proper Mickey Thompson drag slicks on,I managed 12.8/104 but with the car weaving around a lot, because I had them on too narrow rims. Now fitted to 7'' Wolfies and looking better. Also re-jetted the NOS and went to the RR today.Pulled 200 bhp at the flywheel, then switched the gas on and was amazed to see 260 bhp. Can't wait for the Hot Rod Drags.......... *happy*
