cheers guys - yeah they are close, was a bit of luck!

but they are nowhere near as close as the water pump and the gear box are to the frame!.. good job the engine doesn't move much!

Thanks, progress may slow now as im getting to the wiring.. my least favourite part of the any build.

The masters are from rallydesign, but they aren't a bolt on fit.. i had to take them apart cut and rethread the pushrods - not a difficult job though.

Had a few hours that i could spend on the car recently so thought i would tackle a few boring jobs.

Wrapped and fitted the manifold, plumbed in the fuel lines inc FPR and run the engine loom. Im starting to build the rest of the loom from scratch so far ive sorted the front light, indicator etc section, will update you on this when the front end gets refitted, but its looking good, used some nice braided cover and mate'n'lock connection's.

oh and bought a brise alternator plug from demon tweeks.. for stupid money.. joy.

Also started on the new dash - and welded another patch in the floor.. next year a resto might be on the cards :(

so far

cheers, Mark

next instalment - not far off now! but as ever part way through the project the car is looking a bit worse for ware.. needs a good clean and a tidy up!

Chopped the gear linkage down to size welded it all back up and installed the gear selector. Still needs paint - but that will be done when i have finished sorting the dash out.

installed the hydraulic clutch line, made this up from custom line and unions, dead simple in the end.

Finally after a tone of measuring and offering up a vauxhall rad i had i ordered some new hoses from Roose Motorsport

Great company and im really happy with them.

so i linked them up with the spare rad and found that once on my front end woundnt fit.. had to remove about another 20mm of the inner front panel to get it to all fit. So here it is in mock up stage. Next job is to fabricate some brackets and fit the new rad.

Anyone know if i could ditch the plastic expansion tank for an alloy one? or does it need to be plastic to give some movement under pressure?

cheers, Mark

Good work Mark, excellent progress being made :)

As for the expansion tank, I would use the the plastic one, but that's only because I do like the look of OEM installs!

thanks fellas :)

just a bit of wiring holding things up from the first start - so not long now.

to do list.

Fabricate and link up the exhaust, brackets for radiator and expansion tank.

Finish off the wiring.

Complete the dash.

Paint the gear selector / linkage.

refit all the little boring bits.

And get it on the rollers.

edit: cheers for the link Andy :)

managed to get the exhaust linked in - im not happy tho as it sits too low, obviously i could raise the car a bit but im not going to get enough height back

i only have 2" from the ground as it is..

can anyone see where i could make an improvement? problem is getting a exhaust pipe that will fit and raise its at the same time.

cheers, Mark

Simon - ring might have to take a back seat.. im buying another house at the moment and its getting expensive.

right - took another pic, and now i can see the problem.. its where the manifold meets the pipe, looks like i will need to cut it and weld another bit in. *angry*

If i increase the angle the system should then lift into the tunnel.

That is low mate!

You could put a flex joint at the front by the down pipe and the put a hanger on the sub frame.

That should pull it up.
