Right, new year - new update.

I picked up my engine from my engine builder on New Years Eve, he gave me the low down on what he had done and showed me this and said he wasn't sure what had caused it but he said "something has gone through it"...

The engine was treated to an sw10 cam, new followers and a new oil pump as well as the following.

Strip down engine
Crank regrind 0.020
New lead bronze mains
New lead bronze big ends
New thrust washers
Acid dip and clean of pistons and rods
Repolish the head clean face, grind in valves, degrease and rebuild head with new stem seals.
Remachine cam wheel
Balance crank assembly (the crank was originally from MED and he said it was out of balance...)
Balance clutch/flywheel assembly and engine management pulley
Set cam timing to 108º
Rebuild engine

Next job is look at the boxes of bits and figure out what to do next... gearbox will be done mid Feb

Nice progress. What sort of power are you expecting?

Cheers.

I had 105bhp at Mini Sport with a single SU and an sw5, so with a weber and an SW10 I am hoping for hopefully at least another 10bhp... we'll see

Slowly! A mad busy social life has let me have fook all time on the car as of late. I've not touched it for about 2 months... Should have the engine in within a few weeks hopefully

Please kick my arse as I've done fook all on the car since June... Getting messed around by a supplier is the main reason as I lost a lot of time aiming for a deadline and got fed up...

This is how projects go. After I sprayed mine I didn't even go in the garage for 4 weeks. Just get out there and have a potter around you will soon get back into it.

That said I drove Wil's car at the weekend and that really inspired me to get on with mine.

After quite a long time after picking up my engine from the engine builder, it is starting to look more like an engine...

The MED pulley/trigger wheel is fitted and the sensor bracket. Just need to sort/source the alloy end plate off the gearbox and then I can put the engine mounts on and drop it on.

I've also got to fabricate a bracket to hold the bike speedo sensor near the pot joint.
