Cheers for that.

For the banjo on the subframe I ended up lifting the engine ...

Now I wonder if I fit my X pin diff as I fix the transmission leak ...

Did not bother fitting the X-Pin diff for this engine.

I found out my inlet wich was standart iron cut off, spaced and angled was cracked !
Actually weak to the point I can pop it in or out with my thumb ...

Better find out early anyway ...

What is more, it didn't fit my bare freeflow wich I insulated as seen right here :

I used about 4 meters of insulating wrap to do that.

And it just about stopped itching ...

Stuff happened on the car, mostly setting up but one tiny pic to show :

from two clocks dial to 3 clocks dial with a little bit of lightening on the way.

I was happy until I found out the rpm clock is not working properly (probably due to 5 years storage ...).

Also, I can't really make up my mind around the breather.
As standard it is sucked in the air filter when the engine is sucking hot air from the flap thingy but since I got rid of this, there is no more real depression in the oil pan whick I understood was required ...
Ho weel, I'll leave it as it is for now ...

Quarry Bonk

You can leave the breathers with a small filter on, or into a catch tank with a filter on top and plumb an oil return in somewhere. Don't have to under vacuum, just need to be open to be able to 'breathe' :)

Evening folks

I have been working on the car on and off for a few months and found out at some point the rear brake cylinder on the LHS was shot.

It had put a lot of corrosion on the plate too so I cleaned it and got some weight off it too.

I only drilled holes in a place I thought was not to see any load.
I also cleaned upt the other side but it must look standard for MOT guys.
I would have liked to put it in a lathe to have the sides slimmed down too but that has not been possible in the time frame and for a price.

Below is a pic of my paint cabin and the other side :

It has not been wheighed, I assume the gain is low (cut off the bolts too) but it is basically free.

In the end I had the car MOT'ed and did the paper before changing house last may 5th.
Great achievement for me but there is plenty work left.
Fortunately, the remaining part is more rewarding as I can take the car out and DRIVE !

I have a deadline in september for a friendly hill climb with a friend and I intend to win this.
998 / N/A is all that is mandatory.

Cheers.

Car is still 998 N/A and will remain for some time.

It has a 1275 electronic ignition and I searched out the net to know if it entails the 998 "power" potential but I didn't found a definite answer.

Also the car dies when turning left (IIRC), it has a HS4 so one could blame the side bowl but it really is too much so there might be other issues to adress ...
