Wish I could weld as neatly as that.
You must have bought the dark green hammerite in bulk? - its a pretty good match.

theres alot to like about having your car the same colour as hammerite *happy*

i got my turret made and fitted this weekend, they sit about 30mm higher than standard, and about 15mm inwards. but i still want to get the standard fuel tank in.

thankyou very much*happy*
i get to spend about 3 hours a night on it so you soon get things done, if i work out what i need to do the next day, i can get straight on with it.
i need it back on the road for mid April. but i want to sort must of the rust out*oh well*

i took the battery cable mount out, it looked fine from the inside, but there was a bit of rust showing, took it off and the front 10" was shot.

the growing pile of rusty mini metal

ive got the subframe off, rust not too bad on mounts, need to cut alot out to get to it all.
the rear subframe is good, but i've made a rear beam.
made it with 60x40 and i used the camber brackets for the ends, just need to made the mounts for the handbrake.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

i've finished the rear mounts, sorted so rust on the boot floor and turreted the other rear arch.
ive made a new dash board too, ive still used the clocks from the old dash, ive added a boost gauge aswel.
after making my new subframe i thought i could have made it differently, but i was'nt going to start again, but when it came to fit it there were a few clearance issues, so instead of cutting it up and changing it i started again.
i've made two more mounts for the heel board, cut away at the top for the seat base and i've chaged the track. i've moved the rear arms out an inch each side, so now my wheel stick out of the body the same as the fronts, five inches.
ive tryed it on and it all fits fine.

Sweet!
What type of steering wheel is that mate?
Wider beam is a quality idea, I assume the shell mounting points are in the same location?
Surely is it big turbo time soon?
*happy*

you might want to be a bit carefull of the rear of the car being wider than the front, It might not handle as well as it used to!

are they not wider at the front as standard? my wheels line up with the fronts now, they stick out the same as the fronts now too.

got all the brackets welded onto the subframe for the brake pipes and exhaust, i've cut the lugs off of the rear arms and taken the markings off, looks loads cleaner.
