nic , you fruity spaz *wink* its got a couple of gears at the back of the cam chest that connect the 2 cams ,so only one has to be driven at the front ,the drawback is tests involving a change in lobe seperation angle involve both ends .....er....so to speak..um think ill stop now !

Are you going to convert it to run petrol at some point, or keep with the propane?

sorry i missed this ric ,
um im not really sure ,depends how it goes on propane ,

you lose about 10 to 15 percent of your power on propane ,

but you can run much higher boost ,
so ill see how it goes , i will definately try to get some bits from the scrappy so i have the option .

Great stuff....

We've been hearing for YEARS that a head off a Fiat of some kind will fit - but no-one has ever confirmed it one way or t'other... Till now.

Well impressed - but more pics are needed of the whole setup / pics of the head / ports.... Nudgey nudge!

More shaft holding photos please. Purely on a technical level of course, I mean below is a well held shaft, fully explaining its function.

The actual fitment of the head with regards to block mods is near identical to the K head. The front 3 studs line up (oops my bad, didn't realise they had been moved 3mm:$) the rest need relocating (it could well be the exact same stud spacing infact!). The original head studs were used on all 10 locations.

All the original oil drains need blocking (I think it was 7 in total) but they were just the right size to run a taper tap down. :) The 2 oil drains being used now were drilled and tapped especially, and seem to be good enough.

Come on Robert, pics of the ports etc.. *wink*

I was talking to my machinist today about this, firstt thing he said, NO WAY!!, lol, he was impressed.

Looking at this more, and im not being negative, its just to dammed tall to fit under an un molested round nose. Run it without a bonnet *smiley*

I dont think it will be as saught after as the BMW conversion, just my opinion.

Like i said, im not being negative *wink*

665 mm sump to oil filler cap ,which could definately be removed and then its 660 in fact the top cam surround could be hoicked off too 650mm.
, and its 195mm from block face to head cam sprocket ,which is the point one could machine down too.

Looks great robert, but do you ever plan to run coolant or any kind of stock water pump? As the idler pulley is rather in the way. Great work though, i'm inspired to get my k done again!!

the k1100 is 190mm from head face to the top of the "converted" cam cover - cam pulley end

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

just measurd a mini head and rocker box ,173mm ,so the ''Afire'' engine is 22mm higher if machined /butchered down a bit .OR 15MM MORE IF NOT CHANGED AT ALL AND USING THE NORMAL OIL FILLER oops caps so 37mm higher as stock ,whats that ? inch and a half ,hmmm ,that should clear shouldnt it ???!!!
