Saw this mag feature once where they hid the bottle in an old duffle bag which they cut holes into for connections and fixings.
But that was a road car so it was only to avoid the cops.Maybe scrutineering will be more thorough

Proven 200+bhp & Avon Park 05,06,07 Class D 3rd place

Hell i've just seen this post , it not very old and a few pages!

I agree with much that John has said.
As for the 16v heads, they are so ahead of the 5 ports it doesn't leave many spaces left in the class for the others lol.

Can i add a class to the mix as well!

what about a 700 kg min weight limit! or what ever a mini is. lol just for people the carpets and heavy seats.

Everyone has gone down their own route for high power and low times be it with either 5 port heads or k's and all work very well.

I dont think catagorizing each competitor is right IMHO.
Yes MOTable possibly, but not the spec of the engine and/or car. So long as its turbod and a steel "shell".

Whats next?
Carb VS injection?
Aftermarket ignition systems vs dizzys?
F/gfront vs steel front?

Itll never end, get my drift?*frown*

Some of Road legal cars are on the verge of "race cars" anyway.

could be worse, you road legal lot could just be grouped together with the race cars .. tis one thing thats put me off making the journey to the showdown.

and its nothing like as unfair as class I

I think thats the non mini engined variants, in that class anything goes, race, road, no cc breaks

that class needs breaking up before anything else

That's the one Evo is talking about Nic...

Matt made a valid point - this fussing between wether a car is truly a road car or not - and Nic / Matt are the ones who should really be fussing - knowing they have an uphill battle to compete fairly against a high-revving twin cam.

Take the nitrous off MattW, and it's easilly feasible that JohnK, Carl / TomF and Jimster are easilly equivalent to - if not over Matt (IMO) - but it's pretty safe to say that he still has - by a long way - the biggest banans in the 5-port world?

I know the two 16valvers that were at Emerald made numbers WELL exceeding 200hp.
And that was the first basic attmept - they'll get further in the future.

And then John has a BB turbo which just looking at the minimum flow for any garrett GT BB shows John is intent on upping the ante further...

Nope - for me - it is the 5-port boys who have some grounds for complaining if anyone. Of course - I have an arsehole of course, so am qualified to this opinion. :)

How about we have our own competition? I'd be happy to organise it as I won't have my car ready by then. My thoughts are as follows,

Two classes:

1) cars with two intake ports
2) cars with three or more intake ports

Only other rules are that you must be a TM member & cars must be powered by a steel A series / A+ engine. Anything else goes.

£10 to enter winner takes all, I can even get some cheap tacky trophies if people want.

i think the £10 is a bit steep as there are only a few who now they are in with a chance of winning, i think something like £2 entry would encourage more people to have a go for a laugh. i certainly wouldnt care. then if 20 cars enter, that covers say 6 tacky trophys *smiley*
