Danke Danke on the comments!!

Did some more today!

Got the bulkhead down to bare metal and gave it the red-oxide treatment, never sprayed with it before but I love it, goes on super nice!:

Then my friendly neighborhood fabricator (Ben) whipped up a nice ally blanking plate for my speedo drive:

And he also bought round a spare alternator that he had, seems a little thinner than the standard one, but longer which isnt a problem. Tis also lighter!!

Cant really see it in the pic but its about 20mm thinner, every little clearance bit for my rad helps!!

Going to give the bulkhead a lick of paint and do some other bits in the next few days, weather doesnt look too good though and back to work tomorrow, balls :(

Cheers!!

Right, happy with the progress made today.

Starting to take shape now getting quite anxious!!

Gave the bulkhead a re paint so its looking fresher:

And got the engine out ready to be put in, was quite a mission and a stinking hangover didnt help!! :s

On the hoist!:

And with a bit of tweaking of the timing end mount:

Engine is officially in!!

Next is to fit the carb and plenum, run fuel lines in the car, wire the pump, mount the fpr and connect everything up fuel wise. Mount the rad and intercooler and run all the piping for that, install the megajolt and plum all the vac related bits in, starter motor and bits like that - looking good I think!

Thanks

Thanks Ollie!

I used a flapper disc all over the bulkhead to get it back to metal, and just really coarse sandpaper in the hard to get places like the tower bolt area and to key the metal.

Theres quite a bit of seam sealer in the corners there, which I just "flappered" away and sprayed over like normal, going to put some sealant in it at some point.

Yesterday I cleaned up, painted and fitted the slightly smaller alternator.

Got the carb and plenum on.

Spruced up my master cylinders and fitted them back on.

Got an air filter, as well as a 2nd hand but never used oil pressure gauge:

Some braided fuel line for my feed and return, t-piece as well so I dont have to mod the tank.

Electric fan, dumpvalve, cold air feed, braided oil pressure pipe and rad hoses are all on their way aswell.

Thinking of getting a curley switchpod dash next week but not sure just yet.

In the mean time, wheels are being powdercoated and im making heatsinks for EDIS bits and getting ready to crack on with the wiring for that.

Then can make mounts for the rad and IC and crack on with the other jobs!!

Oh and I won a 2nd hand 7/16 and 3/8 combination snap-on ratchet spanner on ebay for £3.50 delivered earlier which im quite pleased about - random!

Cheers

And got a 9" fan through for the rad, gave it a bit of a personal touch!

Can you do this? I have a 12 month old Snap-on 3/8 drive ratchet, one of the small screws which holds the ratchet mech in has dropped out, the other one has lost its threads, result a useless ratchet.
Can you get it sorted if I send it you?
