LoL robert,

Yes I think their air must be denser down there, I guess it all falls doe n to the bottom of the planet!

All the measurements exclude the tappet clearance, I'll put up the durations less the tappet clearance later.

might sound like a stupid question but what do you do to make it a hybrid?

what you do is bugger the turbine shaft due to oil starvation, then find that you cant get spares for VNT's anywhere, so you then find a bigger exhaust turbine, and machine the exhaust housing to fit that. *oh well*

South region of the Netherlands

assume work you delivered!!!

Question do: I saw you put your throttle body near to cylinder 4, isn't it better to put it near cylinder 1? Because in my project it is on cylinder 1 and if it doesn't matter that much i would ma by moved to that side so my dynamo can be fixed at a more normal position.

There ain't no milling machine like the one at home !!!

Someones doing some research :)

I put mine at no 4 because I thought it would make the pipwork easier, If I did it again I would put the throttle ant no 1 end and have the intercooler where the sidemount rad was ala nic (check page 12)

It goes well enough, only got about 30 miles on the engine, but its pretty pokey at 20psi,

just need to get it through the MOT and Tax'd

Ok, I mentioned using a Servo controlled by MS to control a VNT in another thread....

as the boost control is a PWM signal, and so is an RC servo I said MS should be able to control one...

ok RC seveos have three wires... red (5v) 0range (PWM signal) and black (GND) so jsut connect the orange to the Boost pin on the MS that would normally control a solenoid (no prizes for where to connect the ther two),
the servo expects to see an current source rather than a drain so I had to bias the line with a 10k resistor up to 5v,

servo's are totaly one way at about 1.5ms PW and totally the other at about 2.5ms, so we need to find out what this is in MS boost duty terms, so just set the whole boost table to one value and scale it up and down til you find your min and max, for the servo I am using its 81% and 96%, there are settings in MS you can put these into.

here is a vid of my MS controlling the servo against thjrottle position... ie floor it and it shuts the vanes and comes on boost *wink*

another hint, dont connect the servo to the TPS 5v... it'll chuck a load of noise on there!

also this will mean I can roughly tell were the VNT is in the logs.
