Its more to do with me not having any tools to make one, plus the fact that you are able to line it up properly.

My car still has the original engine in etc.

Yes I have a GT17, but i'm some way off getting it on. plan is to build up a new engine, with my SCCR box and then drop it in.

Just gathering bits at the moment.

Any question, do you happen to have a list of the parts you bought to rebuild your box? Bearings etc?

Need to build mine after the laygear and layshaft broke some years ago... :S

I just rang mini spares for the bearings, with the exception of the single and double roller as I got them on ebay.

I can make you a downpipe if you want, but would need the parts to do it asap as the new engine will be going in very soon. Obviously, you'd need to re-use the metro mainfold as we have or it won't fit. PM me if you're interested in one.

I must say I'm a little concerned how close the DP gets to the clutch slave cylinder. We could do with a heatshield I reckon.

We've got some heat shield tube in the garage, could wrap that round the lower part of the braided hose and make an aluminium shield with that crinkly stuff

Yes you need to make a heat shield! I melted my slave with the standard turbo set up *surprised*

Got the downpipe welded up.

Noticed a bit of a restriction in the mouth.

So I ground it out a bit

It wouldn't be our van with out a rusty hole in the floor come MOT time...

Exhaust and fuel plumbing is sorted. I've shifted the fuel filter out of the way and plumbed it in after the pump.

Got most things slung in place in the engine bay, should all fit OK...

Also whipped the interior out so that John can have the pleasure of chipping of the sound deadening from the floors *smiley*

What's the secret with the blue head red block?

Blue to cool the head, red to keep the crank spinning nice n fast?

We just gave the head to Steve and said the van needed to go faster and smoke less, that's what he gave us back *smiley*

Is red the new black and blue the new red? just covering all bases?

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Still need to do the valve clearances once it has oil in it. There's a pic a little way back up the thread of a BT metro van with the same decals *smiley*

Like the exhaust manifold, looks like a good neat job.

Yes, just added a short 45 degree bend. There's a link on the previous page to them new for about £45 delivered. 2" o.d. tube slips straight in them.

Made the actuator bracket today and shortened the rod to suit.

Obviously it is not a blatant rip off of Robert's bracket in any way shape or form...
