I am putting it down to the fact that it was 2am when i put it all back in the block.

You guys really get your balls busted over there for the MOT...here in the US (at least on the east coast), I can take a registration paper to the Motor Vehicles Admin, pay my $75 and be on my way...not even so much of a picture of the car needed! It's actually somewhat of a loophole right now as anyone with a car over 20 years old can do this without any inspection whatsoever...lots of crap out on the road though because of this... Well i got 1/2 hr on the car tonight and fixed the windscreen wiper, I had to run a new live wire from the switch ( its a quick fix).

I got alot done today, the alternator is now charging with a lot of fault finding and the hi-lows are now jacked up, so i am hoping to get it in on monday for the retest.
