Not the most scientific of measuring sticks, but it's good enough as a guide. It had the heater at 7KG *smiley* So with a few other bits and bob's that's 12KG out of it already.

Better weigh the old exhaust and the T3 too. I bet the new stuff is quite a bit lighter.

Out of interest lads, without scrolling through 27 or so pages, What sort of spec/boost run we're you using when you made the 153bhp?

Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

The TM disease is getting bad. I found myself sat in the van last night looking for things to remove.

On top of what we have already lost I've been looking at:-

Bitumen sound deadening pads on the floor
Comfy seats
Door Cards
Extra plastics
Big heavy steel bulkhead to the load bay.
And other silly little things like interior lights etc.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Minispares Stage 3 Head with 28cc chambers
Standard Metro Turbo 20831 Pistons with TotalSeal Piston Rings
ARP Rod Bolts
N/A MG Metro Cam
STD T3 with ported manifold
1:1 SC Drops
STD Helical box with x-pin diff
MR2 Intercooler
Megajolt

Actuator was set at 12.5psi but it spiked to ~15psi at about 4200rpm on the rollers where peak torque was made.

Lots of progress this week *smiley*

Benross has nearly finished the head refurb/upgrade, should be a cracker when it's done.

The block has been stripped and drilled for 11 head studs. That'll be getting dropped into Fast Carl for new cam bearings tomorrow. His oil fed thrusts have done their job well, the thrusts are near on perfect after a load of abuse on the road and drag strip. *happy* The new rotating assembly will be going for balancing tomorrow too.

The new box is just about done, just need to fit the diff.

New exhaust is nearly sorted.

Got the new turbo butchered onto the metro manifold.

Getting there.

Lol at Wil

We're away for a week from midweek, then both of work until after the bank holiday. We aim to get the engine built and potentially fitted. Then it's all the little bits that take forever. Should be OK for Avon...

The down pipe is about 2.5" at the turbo end going down to 2 1/8" after the flexi, then 2" all the way to the end.

I should say that I lke the exhaust, but use Mikalor clamps instead of the shit U-bolts.

Interestingly I had a similar exhaust on the original hillclimber we built, and unlike Roberts beastie it was worse on power, couldn't explain it.
