Not really that bothered about weight on the road car. It currently weighs 712kg. I've been told 23kg for the micra frame.

Possibly, I've already sold the gearbox & RTS. I'm keeping the Ecu, loom etc. For the micra build.

Can't believe you've abandoned the old A-Series! Is it because you've run out of variants to build? lol

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Starting to put a few bits back on

Only one major problem. I'm really not happy with the colour of the powder coating. I asked for very dark grey.

It's Turnd out very blue, so and going to strip them down and get everything done in semi gloss black, and keeping with the grey, black and silver theme.

I keep looking at it and thinking the subframe colour will be ok, but I don't want to get it fully built up and then wish I had change them.

All looks really good to me, I like the colour of the subframe better than the usual satin black

The grey/blue has a sort of older period engineering MIL-spec look about it, I'd keep it

Much easier to inspect / keep an eye on things like any cracks etc when non black

That was the original plan why I didn't go for black.

What does everybody think of the contrast? Should I change them. All the other little bits are the same colour, ie internal gear linkage, oil catch tank, etc. ,

Ive been putting up with orange subframes of my yellow clubman for day 1, as I originally had them done for a gunmetal grey fibreglass pickup I almost built. I hate them, but it's a full strip down and rebuild.

Carnforth, Lancs

If there's enough parts in that colour and it comes across as a theme it'll look spot on. Goes well with the body colour.

But...if there's not enough of it, it'll look like a mistake.

I think it is probably a blessing in disguise. I doubt that the powder coaters would have got a decent enough colour match so it would end up looking a little miss match, plus too much of one colour can be a bit yuk.

I think the colour they are now breaks it all up a little bit.

I really like that colour Matt, looks good as a contrast to the grey looks a lot better than black would.
