This car is awesome, Nick. It's such a credit to your hard work. Can't wait to see it done.

I've been using your picture as a background on my mobile for a while. Ace!

Ask these guys nick

http://mijexhaust.com/how-to-get-in-touch-with-us.html

I got them to make me a 2.5" straight through back box and the dimensions. I used the same dimensions as a maniflow box. They did it in stainless aswell. I just need to weld the tail pipe om and the inlet flange.

Cheers dude, I can't really claim much of the work though! Jez did the panels for me and Endaf did the cage. Had help from Kean today on the downpipe too :)

MIJ are just up the road from me, I'll never use them out of principle though after piss poor customer service years ago.

I used to run a cherry bomb on my old 2" system but they're still a bit heavy. If I can't find anything lighter then I'll just get a 2.5" version.
Almost went with ally for my link pipe but stuck with stainless for now.

Which holes in the bulkhead Dave? Most of them have been welded up now if I didn't need them.
Only going for a 2.5" exhaust as I'm aiming for a little more power this time round so just making sure there's one less restriction.

Cheers dude :)

Just thinking about putting my lambda boss in, how close to the turbo can they go? Sure I've seen them in the elbow before. My old one was in the link pipe but it'd make cable routing easier if it were in the bay.

Nice work with the exhaust - looking good. Will you be putting in some kind of flex joint or not needed?

I was also thinking about put a lambda right at elbow, but someone suggested that the gasses haven't finished reacting when the leave the head so the earlier you put the sensor, the richer the AFR appears. I'm guessing that retarding the ignition under boost would make this worse with less time to complete the burn, so could be running much leaner than you think. I put it close to the gear change in the end.

Isnt it usually 12-18 inch from the valve?
Mine was 6 inch after turbo on the mini and about 2 foot on the skyline
The skyline has a noticable lag in the data log of around 2 rows of data ( about 1ms) depending on rpm

Exhaust is nearly all done, only got one hanger right at the back for now, may need another off the rear beam I think. Still need to weld in the lambda boss too.

Tailpipe was just tacked on while I was fitting it all up. Ended up cutting it down and angling it a bit nicer before welding it fully.

Got my hard lines in for the fuel too, still need to make them off through the front bulkhead once I've decided where the reg is going.

Fuel pump is fitted up under the boot floor, itching to finish off that plumbing but I'm thinking I may get a different tank with a sender in it so don't want to drill the floor for the pipe just yet.

Anyone got any recommendations for a cheapish tank with a sender and either 3/8 or an6 fittings? That one was only £100 brand new when I got it and is about the size i'm after, 5/6 gallon.

Looking good, I was planning something similar with the centre exhaust and maybe notch the rear ally beam, did you weld another piece in where you cut the notch out? I was just concerned about 'pulling' the beam as the bolts into the heelboard are quite tight on mine already.

Did you buy the re-packable exhaust parts or did it come as a complete silencer, I can't find anything sensible price wise?

Yeah we welded a piece back in where the beam was notched for the exhaust, it's real flimsy without it.

Took me a while to find a lightish back box in 2.5", it's 1.8kg Ali/stainless from competition supplies.

Is it worth putting some kind of heat shield either between the exhaust and the floor or better the floor and the fuel tank?
