Looks cool. Whats the drive shaft angle like with the engine so low and far back ?

the more the arms point forwards, the more the wheel will move back and forwards as the arm moves up and down.

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Looking good!

Just a thought - when your going round a corner and the tyre flexes won't it rub on the tie bar? Can you not chop the front corners of the frame to get the tie bar angled further in?

Wish I could make progress this quick lol

I hope you are planning to do some reinforcing where the tubes are meeting at the front corners

being built for the 1/4 mile corners are not a priority ( although it will go back on the road at some point)
i have a couple tricks up my sleeve if it becomes an issue but if not wheel spacers *happy*

how much does it weigh, looks like a load of scaffolding at the moment but i hope it tidies up better (kudos for to you for doing it i wouldn't)

a concern of mine would be the tie bars. do you know how much it will flex etc if your going big power? i like the option of making them shorter.

Day 10,

day off *happy*

woke up half blind and just got back from doctors have an eye infection :( so i will be resting up ( and its raining)

it weighs more than the 6kg i cut off lol

i will weigh the frame bare when im done

the tie bars will be addressed if there is a problem im not getting too hung up on them, i have studied every available subframe and there all different some better but with sacrifices elsewhere some worse imo
the tie bars have the job of transmitting almost all the power to the chassis mine are positioned as straight as i can within the limits i cant control, the main thing i dont want to happen is for the power to lift the front up, i have seen alot of vtec conversions coming off the line the front lifts 6 inch

it does look untidy atm i hoping after the bracing and trimming it looks like its meant to be there, iff not no one will be seeing it anyway lol

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Although it's heart warming to see all sorts of positive encouragements on your efforts, I feel a very serious reality check is necessary....

.....that front subframe looks like it's fit to handle a citroen 2cv engine at best, before disintegrating at the first pothole:(

I know the Dutch are known for being direct. Sorry about that, sometimes you have to be tough to be gentle???

I see where Evoderby is coming from, Theres places where you could place some triangulation to make the subframe a whole lot stronger, saying that you haven't finished yet and no doubt you already have it in mind!

Come on boys its not done yet! as you can see its still tacked, not fully welded or finished, also remember that this is only 10 days work!! and is more then most do in a year!

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

It's more than I've done in 3 years! But that's strictly down to being skint :(

Having also made a subframe from scratch and having taken ages to complete. It takes a lot trial and error to get it right, keep at it and I'm sure you will end up with a good strong frame.

whats with all the negative waves baby? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnntjjJVUh8&noredirect=1
i can assure you this subframe is already stronger and stiffer than an original subframe even though it is only tacked on 50% of the welds and i have not even started stiffening it up yet or mounting it to the body or tying it into a roll cage
Simon, Alex and Dion thankyou for seeing this for what it is
nic how do you mean? turning clearance?

turning circle, dont you just put the had brake on and a liitle lock then use the POWER to pull the mini round and warm the tyres in clouds of smoke *happy*

looking good brett, as i said before dont think i've ever seen a nice looking vtec frame.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile
