Got the blasting done at a local place Ron, all soda blasted so it's soluable.
I did get my own shot blasting gun but my compressor is nowhere near manly enough to power it. Took me 6 hours to do a front subframe! Never again.

Bit of an update to stop simon from crying..

managed to get hold of another twin bolt subframe to hack up, moved the top arm mounts to give a nicer angle on the top ball joint with how low I want to run the car.



Need to adjust the shock mounts again now as the top arm move has pushed the bottom of the coilover into the wheel, should be a quick fix once I get the subby back on as it's off being shotblasted.




Engine build is progressing well, just the head that i'm waiting now and a minispares order tomorrow.

Bought the dsn timing cover kit off johnny cos I'm a tart and it looks pretty. Went for the one of the swifty oil pumps as the Minispares evolution are out of stock for the foreseable future.
Got it all timed up tonight, The MED timing kit is way better than my old doweled minispares one.
Just need the primary shim to arrive and then I'll re-check the idler and get the box /clutch etc bolted on. Will stick a spare head on for now so I can start looking at making a new downpipe and exhaust once the subby is back in.













Also started stripping down my turbo as it was pretty worn, just caught it before the comp wheel started picking up on the housing

£120 off eBay Johnny, overnight parts from Latvia. Figured the genuine Garrett one didn't last very long so might as well buy a cheap one.

Only reason for the new subframe Dave is that I'd cut out where I needed the new top arm holes to be on the old subframe. Plus I didn't want to risk fucking it up and being stuck without one.

Looks like it should do the trick yeah, how ideal it'll be suspension wise I've no idea but as long as it doesn't snap the top ball joint I'm happy

Managed to get it back down on its wheels today at last.

Pretty much finished the front suspension off yesterday and finished building the engine this morning.

Next on the list will be a new downpipe and exhaust, trying to get all the welding work done out the way as that takes me the longest.

2.5" Elbow and downpipe pretty much done, still needs some tidying but I'm fed up with the noise of the grinder for tonight.

Anyone have any links for a nice light 2.5" entry back box?
