Adjustable lengths for the trumpets?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

No John, there not adjustable. Tuned for otimium torque around 6000-6500rpm. I can however play around with other lengths on the dyno, as it's simple tubes and grub screw on on the ram. I might go 50mm shorter on the tuned engine, around 7500rpm to chase the magic 100bhp per litre. Based on the fact it's a standard engine and purely a road car, ive gone for the longest runner length I could physically fit under the bonnet.

I can't wait to hear them

The throttle are a couple of mm out, so difference is easily corrected by the runners.

Having driven the car to work and back (56miles) 1 things is certain, they very loud. It's kind of like the drop gear thing. Love it for the first 15minutes, but slowly begins to really piss you off. Also the cable movement of the bike bodies is a lot shorter than the mini, so pedal travel is about 3/4.

I have a solution : You will have to travel at an average speed of 93 MPH then you will get there before the racket starts to annoy you !

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

It's pretty good to be honest. A lot quicker in the mini than the Micra. Gearing is about right. The power delivery is nice and torquey. Execellent for a everyday road going mini in my opinion. It's running on the 7 port Sw5 map at the minute and pretty close.

Alternator problem solved. Replaced the regulator with a early 2004 none Ecu controlled unit. Works a treat. 14.4v. Kept the 2014 Low mileage alternator body etc, as it looks pretty new and I'd already swapped and spaced, loctited the 5 rib pulley. Happy days

It's all Mot,d and on the road. I'm on the dyno next Thursday for some fine tuning and a comparative power graph ready for the tuned motor. I guessing 100bhp. Ceratainly feels quicker than the 7 port 1330 with sw5 cam at 97bhp. Might just be the gearing with the 5 speed box.

Power seems to be dropping off at 7000rpm with the standard motor. The noise is immense though. I've pulled 8k once or twice aT £150 a engine.

106 Bhp based on what I'm seeing *smiley*

It's indeed quite noisy, nothing a good plenum connected to a CDA type airfilter/box can't tame down.

Have to say at first I positively HATED the idea of transplanting an elderly people car's engine into your mini. I mean come on....Nissan Noddy! But I have to say, your execution is truly superb....lovin' it.

Well, after careful consideration and costing up turbocharging the K11 Micra for a bit of fun, ive decided it was going to be a money pit and not really worth the time or expense. So I've bought myself another toy I instead.

Cooper S GTT 220, with most of the GTT bits available.

So now after 400miles, I've made the decision to try just a plenum & single throttle body. Unfortunately the Indivual throttle bodies sound awesome all the time, which is great until you do a 100 miles round trip at 70-80mph on the motorway. I'd already ordered a plenum for the abandoned turbo project on the Micra anyway.

I've been using the car to go to work and back this week, but it's proving to be less relaxed with the consistent induction noise, also idle control and throttle progression isn't as refined as I'd like.

So I'll be fitting a 48mm Rover throttle body, and K&N filter. and maybe a Idle control valve. I'm still looking for a nice sound on full throttle. I've also fitted a middle centre box to my Playmini Exhaust system ready for CastleCombe.
