yes that intercooler install is very good - Nic started something there! - if you wanted to make it oober efficient I'd seal around the edge of the intercooler to the inner wing all around, add a pull fan on the back and then vent either the top of the wing or down the A post - this will pull the "hot" air out from under the wing rather than it getting stuck there creating a high pressure recirculating spot - that does mean a body mod to the lovely mk1 though - gulp maybe not!

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Thanks paul.

John I still have some work to do on the wing to seal it up. but there will be no holes on the outside lol. I did not what to cut it for the rad but Owell.

I do have an old ebay fan in the shed, that I was thinking of playing with when its up and running.

I still need to work out where to put the air filter and keep it looking clean, I need a smaller one!! or put it in the inerwing

Thanks simon.

This is a really tidy build, it has made me think I could improve a few things on mine when I finally come to reinstall the engine, especially the fuel lines. The IC ducting looks like a great design, it must flow better than most of the usual options.

Mate i have been told That DUCTING is the look for 2011.

and thanks tom & eden

As the sun was out today and I could not stay in work any longer I knocked off early and was out of there at 2 to work on the car. I got lots done today as wel,l i turned it over for the first time and got oil pressure straight away so that was a good start, I also got the dash in with no pissing about. It did not help though that it seemed that everyone in my street was having a BBQ and all i could smell was smoke when i put the wires on the battery.

And it all works first time

This is where I need your help again. What do you think about the swirl pot touching the HT leads?

Thanks Simon.

Looking really nice, although I have to ask where does the little pipe out of the bottom of the swirl pot go?

I've just had a thought,

dunno if you can fit it in or have already considered it but....

In the pic below how about routing the turbo inlet pipe up, past the engine steady, and onto a pipe welded into the top plate of the intercooler shroud, you can then hide the air filter in the top of the intercooler shroud so it gets force fed with cold air,
