I think its the one between PWR and IGN GRD i'm missing which doesnt go anywhere on that diagram so this should be fine i hope.

Hi, tomorow I go install my megajolt, I have one question.
Need I use a fuse in positive wire that go to edis coil and module?
To megajolt I use a 2 amp fuse, that is correct?

Can you post a link to the diagram which you are referring to? as there are several diagrams floating around and the colours vary.

Pin 1 Green Cable to MJ PIP signal
Pin 2 Rev Counter
Pin 3 Orange Cable to MJ SAW signal
Pin 4 Not Connected
Pin 5 To VR Sensor
Pin 6 To VR Sensor
Pin 7 Black Ground
Pin 8 Red Cable +12V from fuse box
Pin 9 Black Cable Ground
Pin 10 Dark Blue Coil
Pin 11 Not Connected
Pin 12 Light Blue Coil

Just realised that the Ford colours are different to the MJ wiring diagrams:



So from left to right:

1 Blue White - MJ PIP signal
2 Green - Not Used
3 Blue Red - MJ SAW signal
4 Brown - Not Connected
5 Blue Yellow - VR Sensor
6 Blue Green - VR Sensor
7 Brown - Ground
8 Black - 12V from fuse box
9 Brown - Ground
10 Green Red -Coil
11 Not connected as Standard (I modified mine with a white & black wire) - Rev Counter
12 Green Yellow - Coil


EDIT got my numbering backwards, sorry about that all fixed now.

The key thing is that on Fords brown is ground and black is +12v where as on Minis brown is 12+ and black is ground.

the ford colour coding varies per year/ day/model in all the modules i have looked at.

i find it very Lucas

this is the part label for a facet vr sensor.

lots of the newer fords have the sensors in hard to reach places so i bought a new part rather than spens two hours getting to a sensor of unknown quality

this will have been covered i reckon, but you could put a wireless dongle on the jolt system, or a blue tooth dongle, if you have a smart phone or pda you could link em that way, but it is a wee bit flash and tarty !!!

im collecting the parts for this standalone ign. system and would i be right in thinking that i could use one of the programmable outputs to activate a nitrous solenoid when there is NO boost registered? and turn off at say 6 psi.?
Because if i put a toggle switch in to interupt the solenoid power then i effectively have anti-lag at the flick of a switch when a get pikeyd by some fiesta/escort chavs (nitrous assisted spool in posh)...

Ive been using non shielded wire on the VR sensor for years with no problems... although i am gonna put some in to see it it makes any difference

Looking to wire up my megajolt/edis bits soon, seen this "basic loom kit" on trigger wheels:

24 metres of 11 amp insulated wire, will that be enough for what I need, i'm thinking its quite alot so probably yes, and is 11 amp wire adequete for it all?

Going to get some shielded twin core wire from them aswell, for the sensor to edis module. Is there anything else that needs the shielded stuff?

yes from the EDIS to mega jolt the PIP and SAW wires there a twisted pair and need sheilding
