Must admit, I do like the look.

Lots of quality time and money gone into it.

This is FORD country, on a quiet day you can hear Vauxhalls rusting.

Too be honest the roof wasn't really a massive saving only a few kg! The main saving was the doors with force racing hinges and I dont have any handles locks or even door cards, if you want seriously light seats tillet seats are the boys weighting around 3.4kg but cost 1800 pound for two!! Check out my thread mate, cheers lee

Right there you did. unless these arent the seats you were on about.
i cant see much difference, (with the ebay shite)

Exactly! Not sure why people seem to be getting funny with you. Good luck with the weight saving, i'm sure you'll find ideas on here!

Out of curiosity, how do you open the doors from the outside if you have no handles? Remote opening/poppers?

Could you not lose a few more grams from the handbrake lever etc, it looks awfully standard?

Thanks a lot mate! You just put your had through the slider window and there is a little lever, no locks tho! Yeah I might drill the handbrake next might save a few grams, cheers lee

I do like those seats look a lot better with the cushion sections
Out of interest what are you building this for? Track days, 1/4 mile?? I'd like to see this on the strip.

How do you plan to mount the seats? My Elise seats were only 6kg, but custom frame and sliders were another 3.5kg

Can you put a picture up of the subframes please (if you have them of course)? I need to fashion some for similar seats and not too sure how to tackle it! Have you considered the generic side mount kits? Would they have too much flex in them?

Seats have built in fixed mounts so will not be on sliders.

get a old lip of a mk3 bonnet and rivet one on, either that or get a mk1 grill, would finish it of nicely
