small update

not done much lately just got back from interstate so im now on the job hunt..

the wheels fit! plenty of space around them about 30mm? i actually think some of the 10s might fit with the corners taken off my calipers anyway im glad all the hard work wasn't for nothing.. think i might be able to get away with out arches too trying to get a more factory look?

the 13x6" rub the steel near the bumper sometimes when going up driveways on angles as the wheel travel up more but i think that was due to tie rod length being to short? ether way ill try fix it might tub the back too as its more annoying

well now having two cracked 12G82 cranks im a tad pissed so wanting to know if anyone makes a new 1098cc crank or if im stuck with buying them only to find out they are bloody cracked!!
if i cant find a 1098 ill use one of the two 998s that i have had checked all ready and find some 998 pistons i dont want to go that route tho as im looking for good off boost torque hence using the longest factory stroke

ot: ive been doing body work on my VW Baja in an effort to finish it and possibly sell it

its been a while but i have an update on the baja i know its not mini related but its to fund the mini and i wanted to do it up even if i couldn't keep it as ive always wanted one also sort of practice for the paint job on the mini if i can pull it off it will be wicked!

the paint is called poison ivy its a Holden color two pack green with metallic flake and black pearl the paint its self is very transparent took 3 coats just to cover the grey under coat then another 3 to get the color/ shade its meant to be then 4 coats of clear to give it the gloss and depth in some photos there isn't ant clear on yet the bonnet has half done the resesed bits have one coat of clear and the outer bits have none i forgot to get photos after paint before clear any way its a paint job that needs to be seen in person i love it i phone didn't like the last pic

I like it. I tried to convince my mate to convert his bug into a Baja, wasn't having any of it though

well i have some progress pics all be it old ones i forgot to post..
its almost a car again YAY! just the tidy up bits now but like a lot of air cooleds it leaks.. also blows large droplets of oil out the exhaust =( runs grate starts first revolution hot or cold with out touching a thing oil light goes off immediately as well
ill pull the heads replace the rings with a light hone on the cylinders and new push rod seals and tubes should then be good to rock the normal cause on these motors

its done yay! just needs a roadie and minor tidy up bits i can now move my focaus to getting a real job not just part time crap and get this thread back on track to the mini!!

its now a 1200 crank n rods 1500 cam n case with a big bore kit to make it 1641 and 1500 heads on it with twin carbs yet to road test it but it flys in the yard first gear and half of second that is the 31" mud tyers do push the front end a lot tho so will be getting some 195/80/14 s all round i think and a full tank of fuel

So you thought he had gone to the effort of somehow getting a 3d image added to the paint. But when coming to choose said image, the best thing he could come up with was a blurred image of a guy crouched with a camera phone?

Really?

In the 13's at last!.. Just
