Bit more done this afternoon.

Welded in two mounting points for the rear bonnet pins. Please excuse my bad welding.

Trial fitted the bonnet, then took it all apart again so I could paint the metal bits, but it was too dark to take photos by then (and I'm going to do it again as red hammerite looks totally wank).

Also, there is a worrying amount of rust and cracking between the scuttle, a panel and frontend inner wing bits.. how should I sort that out?

Finished the bonnet fitting today.

I painted the brackets in the engine bay, fitted the bonnet pins, and then finished it all up by fitting the chrome strip thing. It's a bit wonky, but it'll do for now!

Can't believe how much effort that was just to fit a flippin' bonnet.

Few pics of the brackets, not really bothered about attaching them as they look crappy):

Nice box of parts arrived today from Mr Paul S.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to paint the calipers and stick them on the car this weekend. :)

Wahey, couldnt wait in the end, and whilst I didn't paint the calipers (looked too fiddly with all the bolts and what-not, and I'd probably ruin them!) they are now fitted.

Only trouble I had was bleeding the brakes - I used to have no problem on the old Frog with the tiny Cooper S cylinder-pot thing, but on this car with the big 90's servo it seemed to do nothing at all, and now my pedal hits the floor. I'll start another thread about that, though. (here: http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...=vt&tid=495511)

LOL, you serious? That might explain my bleeding issues then.

I will swap them around tomorrow. Who knew!

Ha ha. Swapped the calipers over (yes, I am bored this evening) and re-bled, and now I have a nice solid pedal. Thanks for the tip - I won't forget that one in a hurry!

Wheel nuts arrived from Minisport today, so I fitted the wheels. I need to give the car/wheels/tyres a good clean as everything is really mucky, but I couldn't resist taking some pics anyhow.

Oh, and the centre caps are not on as one is broken so I'm going to think of a way to re-fit. (the little tabs are all snapped off).

Fun fun. Next job is to sort out the ride height. The front's not too bad, but the rear needs to come down.

HA ha, I was looking at pics of my old car today, and thought 'oh shit, I have copied it!' - same size wheels, same arches, same silly bonnet fitting, etc etc.

Still, 10's ftw.
