Hi Guys,

Took the day off work yesterday to dedicate a full day to getting more done on my engine

So I adjusted the manifold for a shorter middle run and then refitted it. also made up a blanket heat shield for the servo and a heat shield between the manifiold and the brake resevoir i think it looked good

Also plumbed back in the rad and put the alternator back on

Really feels like an engine bay again. now I can go buy a Intercooler knowing how much space I have left

Ive still got a fair few full days left on this but I am happy how its coming along

Had a good day on the car yesterday

Installed plenum and intercooler and plumbed in all sensors and filled her up with oil/water

Went for a basic start up on edis with no megajolt map running and.....she started

I know she don't sound great but wanted to test for leaks and see if we had a spark and was fuelling

Little video to show her running

Looks really good :) . Just watched the videos and read this whole thread , really impressed . Got total respect for someone doing it different rather than just bunging in a standard metro turbo lump .

Look forward to reading more ....

Well done *smiley*

Cheers redrat.

Well I learnt tons from this site and was tempted to go the mirage way as seems the done thing on here

But me and my good friend where saying we loved the original janspeed turbo set up
And I took inspiration from that

Still have a list of things to do but I will keep the pics updated as I go

well I've had my 13x7 rims on the car a few years and I the other day I decided I wanted a change.
I wanted something a little different from what you can normally buy so I sourced an old set of 12x5 KN Mercury rims

when they arrived they had been sprayed but I wasn't happy with the DIY job someone had done on them so I just had them painted and polished out here is a before and after pic.

what do you guys think?

Depends how much meat there is in the rim, but agree they would look good split.

It's tempting about asking for Carl to splitrim but I am already over spent on these wheels and I still need tyres for them
