Today I removed the entire exhaust for the last time and welded up the exhaust joints completely, and refitted it back on the car for the last time *happy* I used a Vee Band joint for ease and simplicity of assembly/ disassembly. The cat is a cheapo metalic core item that came in three pieces. It might be a load of shit, but its got the right size holes in it at the very least *happy*

Finished off a few other bits including fitting the wiper motor and wipers. Not much left to do, the list is getting shorter.

Nice job... I choped the gay rolled end off my exhaust today... Looks much better.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Coming along nicely. Nice attention to detail as always.

Have you got some plans in mind for IC ducting?

No plan for ducting at the moment. Going to see how I get on with it first and worry about it later.

Hi Colin,

Just wondering where you got the stainless gt17 downpipe flange from? Exhaust looks quality, I am hoping to do the same sort of thing.

I made the flange to my own design. I used a simple 'flat' 45 degree angle to mate with the slightly 'convex' shape turbine housing, turned in 304 stainless to take 2.25" tube (the same size as the standard SAAB downpipe), which the ID is a close match to the ID of the turbine housing outlet. I had the clamping plate laser cut in 8mm mild steel (cheap *happy*). I have a few of the clamping plates available if you want one, but you will have to get the flange made. You are welcome to the DXF.

:)

The 'flange' was not laser cut, it was turned *wink* you can have the DXF for both parts if you want, but I have few spare triangular clamp plates to hand but in mild steel.

Which part do you want the DXF of. PM me your email address

Still a long way to go. The plenum is still not ready :( I'll need to get down to the workshop and get this sorted, as it is a hurdle at the moment.

If there ever was a 16v turbo mini from the factory, this is what it'd look like.

Very tidy.

Really does look factory fitted, great attention to detail. Keep up the great work.

Life is always a matter of opinion and quite frankly, no ones opinion really matters.
