Removed the cylinder head before I started work this morning, I think there is no sign of detonation, pistons look OK just no4 looks a lot darker than the rest, look ok?

Looks like its running rich

What is the best way to seal up between the gearbox and engine at no1 main bearing, I've heard that I should rather use a cork gasket than the rubber gasket?

So I thought I was running low boost, rich mixture and conservative 18 degree ignition advance

Number 2 piston melted around the edge and the bore damaged

Hmmmmm welcome to turbos and learning the hard way  I clearly got it wrong

Anyone got any cast omega 10cc 040 cast pistons for sale? I will post in the wanted section too

That's definitely buggered!

Block? Can't you just drop some +60's in dished out a bit.

Can't get get 10cc cast omegas in +60 only +40 or + 20 iirc. Besides that if I buy another set of +40 I will at least have 3 pistons spare.... I suppose I could have a liner fitted to cylinder 2 but blocks are reasonable cheap and it may cost more than just getting a new block.

Been sometime since my last update. After the turbo motor piston was damaged I've been racing the Mini since February with a NA 1310.

The engines 20 year old standard bottom end has done pretty well raced 5 seasons just new bearings and rings at the beginning of the year. Done 6 race meetings since I put it in my car. After a practice session yesterday this happened..

I don't know what pistons they are as I can't find any information on the number on the piston pr22030a.
