So a few of you may have seen i had some issues getting the thing started a few weeks a ago. It turned out to be the trigger wheel was put on 90 degs wrong. So some nights after work soon sorted this out and it runs! :)

Very very happy, just a case of bolting some brightwork and sorting out a dash for it. Then a rolling road session and MOT.....Happy days, here are a few pics of the completed engine bay.

So it's been a while since i updated this thread, and a lot has happened. The car has been set up for 9psi and its hilarious! Great fun and god knows what it will be like when the boost is turned up.

On another note i've recently been in quite a bad car crash. It was my mates civic and i was a passenger, the car flipped about 3 times and was going too fast. I'm ok and lucky to have come out of it with some stitches and bruises.

Here are a few pics of it pretty much done. (It never will be *happy*)

Right so a bit of a downer update, I had problems with the clutch not disengaging properly which was causing some crunching into gears. An MED clutch arm / new clevis pins / system bleed and welding/ re-drilling the clutch pedal. The clutch felt as it should and all gears were great apart from 2nd!

So the consensus was clear that 2nd gear baulk ring has shat it's self! A bit disappointing to say the least, as the gearbox has done only a 1000miles or so. After a butchers over some old posts revealed that the ''Competition'' baulk rings from Minispares were the reason.

The pictures show where i am at currently, trying to get it all back together for MITP ect.

The last two pictures show some wear on the primary gear bush, It was ever so slightly ''snaggy'' pulling it of the crank. Is the normal wear for the milage done, or is a new bush needed?

Cheers
Dan.

That's exactly what mine did, mine was worse so I ended up rebushing it. You may get away with it by just taking off the high spots in the bush.

Yeah it's a pain in the arse, but i'm glad i've caught it at this stage! I have had the gearset apart tonight and 1 of the baulk rings sits right up against all of the gear cones I try. So this explains the crunching in 2nd.

Bit of bad luck on the gears but on the bright side you've got a bloody great looking car there.

So after some long days and evenings, the car is nearly back together! I've rebuilt the gearbox with some rather expensive "Genuine' baulk rings, and got a refund from Minispares for the baulk rings that pooped them selves.

Met up with matty and did lots of measuring of my primary, against his spare primary and crank it seemed fine. So I ended up taking the high spots of and sorted out the primary endfloat, now it's all is good :)
I checked the crank endfloat whilst it was all apart, which was sweet. And made the idler gap a bit smaller.

Just have to wait for my blowing exhaust manifold to come back from being machined flat, and a few bits from Minispares. So MITP is doable! :)

Cheers for watching!

So it's back together and the gearbox is working well! Just in time for MITP, and it's also booked in on a RR Thursday. Hoping for a nice bit of power and more rpm to use for the strip.
