Well I got the subframes in after a bit of a faff, and have the battery cable and brake line up the car. I threw some waxoyl and denidrol in the doors and cavities and also myself. I have started on the loom but I am dreading that bit. Its a matter of striking a balance between getting some pace and not stuffing it up really.

A bit more progress after taking a few days off work to crack on with it. I have lights in and wired up, also had to take out the pedal box and put new studs in it then chuck in the master cylinders. I had to fix so many sheared bolts/studs including the steering column brackets and steering lock bolts. Wiring is getting there, need to rebuild the heater then get that in and wire it all up.

The good news is all the work carried out has been QC inspected and was passed by the FIA (feline inspection agent)

Since my current rocker cover is a bit bashed and I'm too tight to buy a new one, I thought I'd do something different. I have some spare rattle cans so I etched it then painted in up in different layers of colour with a black top coat. I sanded back through the different layers to get a "distressed"/rat look.

Well I've been at it since May last year and planned on having it done within 2 years. It has come together fairly quickly since paint went on so I hope to have the engine in around Christmas and have it ready for the road next spring. We'll see if that pans out though!

Thanks for the kind comments folks.

I got the head torqued down now and the new 1.5 rockers on. I also have a rough Mountney steering wheel that I planned on re-staining and varnishing but proved beyond that. I painted it up russet brown then white then sanded through it for the rustic look.

It doesn't look much different but I have made a bit of progress. Roof lining is in as is the glass. Roof lining was the toughest job so far, not really happy with it as its a bit loose here and there. The windscreen didn't fit so I had to cut lots off my scuttle for it to fit in. Otherwise its getting there. Need some slight brake line plumbing to do then a bit more wiring before engine goes in.

It is. We kept him as we thought he was a girl but one day he came inside, lay down on the floor and produced his small lipstick.

Engine in! The new intercooler seems to fit OK, still sits a little high but the starter is in the way. I will need a new hose or two to connect it up. Still a lot of dash/gauge wiring to do and the tank to go in.
