Our van is best on the road at 10psi, probably somewhere around 120 - 130 bananas. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Quick update, been working on Turbo engine, almost finished, just waiting to get my cylinder head back after being skimmed 30thou, to bring CC down to 27cc. Decided on using my MED FIS offset head, will be selling my Benross Head now the ports have been smoothed and matched. As it wasn't skimmed by Benross, so I had 8tho skimmed off and chanbers measured only measured 24.6cc, I actually ordered / wanted 27-28cc. So its up for sale, but owes me £600 for head from Steve, than a further £200 to be port match, ports smoothed, skimmed and drilled for 11 stud.

Turbo is none water cooled T2/25 bearing housing. R5 compressor housing machined to accept T28 compressor wheel, 300zx low inertia shaft, 360degree thrusts etc. Looks good on simulations, but may need larger comp housing. Ive tried larger housing but had clearance issues, even after removing a fair bit of the block. Plan will be to run new high flow manifolds when the 7 port frees up some space. Sorry for the delay Guys. Decided to run my 1380 n/a at Avon, just to see what it could do (13.9 secs on Saturday). So now im back on the project. Ok well I stript the Turbo motor down to carry out some other mods ie oil feed thrust, dry deck & BMW oil jets. Now its just a case of rebuilding and installing the engine, Intercooler etc. Im on holiday next week and plan to have it up and running by the end of the week.

you can run much more boost at that CR as long as your turbo is up to the job. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Thanks John, Turbo will be good for over 20psi. I plan to use it for track days and want to keep the balance between power and off boost performace. I was orginally planning 20psi + @ 8-1, mainly for the drag strip, but realised for 2 times a year it seem a bit of a waste. I think trackdays will be more exiting and rewarding. I would also prefer a more drivable road car. I will be running eletronic switchable boost for the straights though. Class C 3rd Place Avon 2011 14.18 @101mph |

Finally got the engine in today, One problem after another. Unfortunelty I had to cut my mirage downpipe and reweld it as it was just hitting the subframe no matter how I mounted the engine. The MED 1.3 Rockers didnt go on very well and then 1 rocker was locked in place, on inspection a rocker post was clearly 1.5mm out of line, so Ive just fitted standard rockers until I get them sorted. Finally I walked into the door with my laptop and broke my serial to USB adapter, so not been able to load my megajolt map.
