Our van is best on the road at 10psi, probably somewhere around 120 - 130 bananas.

Quick update, been working on Turbo engine, almost finished, just waiting to get my cylinder head back after being skimmed 30thou, to bring CC down to 27cc. Decided on using my MED FIS offset head, will be selling my Benross Head now the ports have been smoothed and matched. As it wasn't skimmed by Benross, so I had 8tho skimmed off and chanbers measured only measured 24.6cc, I actually ordered / wanted 27-28cc. So its up for sale, but owes me £600 for head from Steve, than a further £200 to be port match, ports smoothed, skimmed and drilled for 11 stud.

However the plan for 2012 will be to run my 7 port head with custom billet plenum and direct port injection

Rollcage is 6 point Safety Devices, custom 38mm alloy dash bar (to save weight) and brackets welded to front uprights.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Turbo is none water cooled T2/25 bearing housing. R5 compressor housing machined to accept T28 compressor wheel, 300zx low inertia shaft, 360degree thrusts etc. Looks good on simulations, but may need larger comp housing. Ive tried larger housing but had clearance issues, even after removing a fair bit of the block. Plan will be to run new high flow manifolds when the 7 port frees up some space.

Sorry for the delay Guys. Decided to run my 1380 n/a at Avon, just to see what it could do (13.9 secs on Saturday). So now im back on the project. Ok well I stript the Turbo motor down to carry out some other mods ie oil feed thrust, dry deck & BMW oil jets. Now its just a case of rebuilding and installing the engine, Intercooler etc. Im on holiday next week and plan to have it up and running by the end of the week.

My slightly revised spec for now is

1293cc 5 Port
Mirage & My Hyrid T2 / T25 / T28
Omega Pistons Cast 10cc
Fully worked Crank & Rods
Oil cooling Jets
Oil feed thrust's
ARP Rod & Head Bolts
MED FIS Head 36 x 32mm Valves
Drydecked
1.3 Med Rockers
Phase 2 Cam
Alloy Venier Adjustable
MED Pre-Verto Billet Flywheel & alloy backplate.
Single Grey Diapham & Bonded AP Plate, MED Arm Kit
SCCR Box & Quaife Diff etc. 3.1FD
SC Drops
MJ and MED Trigger
Custom Intercooler
Nic Plenum
AEM Thru Boost Adjustable Boost Controller with Stramble Boost for 3rd/4th on dragstrip

I will be running 8.6-1 CR hence about 1bar of boost.

No more plans to lnstall nitrous, moving more towards trackday car, rather than drag strip. Therefore higher CR and less Boost.

Here some pictures so far

you can run much more boost at that CR as long as your turbo is up to the job.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Thanks John, Turbo will be good for over 20psi. I plan to use it for track days and want to keep the balance between power and off boost performace. I was orginally planning 20psi + @ 8-1, mainly for the drag strip, but realised for 2 times a year it seem a bit of a waste. I think trackdays will be more exiting and rewarding. I would also prefer a more drivable road car. I will be running eletronic switchable boost for the straights though.

Out of curiosity, how close are the jets to touching the piston skirt?

Finally got the engine in today, One problem after another. Unfortunelty I had to cut my mirage downpipe and reweld it as it was just hitting the subframe no matter how I mounted the engine. The MED 1.3 Rockers didnt go on very well and then 1 rocker was locked in place, on inspection a rocker post was clearly 1.5mm out of line, so Ive just fitted standard rockers until I get them sorted. Finally I walked into the door with my laptop and broke my serial to USB adapter, so not been able to load my megajolt map.

Tomorrow I just need to finish my exhaust, throttle cable, choke, Sort out MJ Map and fit air filter. Should be running by Mid day. Cant wait
