I believe the sequencial mechanism to be genuine and working. I just dont see that having no reverse is much use unless you are such a good driver and never ever get in a twist.

Untill reverse is 100% sorted, Don't waste my time *tongue*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Backwards is still a concern for me.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

It does have reverse.

Just lift the gearlever and put it in reverse as a normal box would do :)

Are you involved in the development Chris? If so get us a vid showing it going into reverse too.

Ok guys, a bit more detail for you. Yes it has the conventional reverse in situ. The rod change shown in the video is stock, no changes at all, with a standard lever assembly, not quickshift. Reverse is in the standard place.
Flat shifting is easily achieved with the addition of a load cell such as those produced by dynojet for motorcycles. This will need to be linked to an ECU or a bespoke ignition/fuel kill device.
Dove tailed dogs are not a problem provided the shift kill is set appropriately. Our thinking at this time is that an optional gear-position indicator will be incorporated as a cost option.
No prices as yet but the aim is to make it competitive. This is a properly engineered piece of precision kit.
Sorry to leave you hanging but work is continuing as we speak.
More info soon.......

From a purely mechanical engineering point of view there is no reason why you couldn't engineer a simple drum sequential mechanism (like a lot of bike gearboxes) with the selector shaft moving backwards and forward in one straight gate, and having it swing right to a traditional reverse gate, and operating the original reverse gear.

The interlock mechanism that would then be required to prevent someone selecting reverse without the sequential drum being in 1,2,3 or 4 will be a lot more interesting :)

Unfortunately it's covered up with something......

Fuck me chaps, talk about jumping the gun, lets wait and see what the finished product is! I for one think its a great idea, and if it does include operation of the reverse then I'm seriously interested.
However until we know, how about we stop second guessing and wait to see what the finished item does or does not do?

A clever bit of work, but am I right in thinking that all it does is get rid of the H gate arrangement?
