Just booked my ticket.

I hope it wont upset too many people on here, especially as so many have been so helpful, but I have been invited by the organisers to run on the Sunday.

The A35 is the spiritual ancestor of the Mini and,if nothing else, shows how far ahead the Mini was in its time.

Many of you may know that the prototype Mini had an A35 948cc engine which was deemed too powerful (!!) and it was installed with the exhaust at the front (wouldn,t that make it easier to fit a turbo ?)

It was also disguised for road testing by fitting an A35 front end, with grille, and I recently heard somewhere that someone is trying to re-create that prototype ?.

Maybe I could form a class of one ?.

What about the other David, does he not fancy a go on the strip? His car certainly looks like it would cut the mustard!

Might come to this but dont think i'll be bringing the car. too many other things to sort.
Whats the plan? Ring of fire, stripper then loose shoes walking up the strip?
Might even bring a tent this year! ha ha!

The other A35 is also turbo 5 speed, similar spec to mine, but he,s had engine issues recently and is reluctant to test it to destruction. He will probably be at MITP so you can ask him.

I am going to come along this year and get the TT out for the first time in 2010. Should be having a little play with boost so expect more melted piston threads....

was ment to be taking the mini but seems it wants a bit of tlc and decided to pass oil badley! could i still go and camp there with my 4x4? thanks mike

I've just blown the cobwebs out of the 998Ti. Ready to roll although I might have to drive it myself this year !
