I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

the idea is great and at face value it does well to keep the car cool but a mechanical fan has 2 purposes and the other is to draw the hot air away from the manifold and exhaust etc.
but as long as your moving you shouldnt have any problems.

I know this is an old thread but how did this work out si?
Was the electric fan on its own with the ducting enough to keep it cool?

Thread revival....

Would the cowling mod in the original post be worth while if you was not running the mechanical fan?

if you gonna put a pull fan on the wheel arch side you might as well do away with the cowl on the engine side.. or better yet do the alu shroud as back in the post to get fresh air from the grill to the rad then the fan is rally only for sitting in trafic or low speed stuff

rember the wheel arch is under vacuum or negative pressure when your at speed so air naturally wants to go threw the rad

Yea I was thinking it would help if I drill holes/remove just the front of the cowl to let the air flow easier through the rad. Maybe leave the other side on?
I have a electric fan mounted directly to the rad between wing and rad. It also acts as a duct from rad to wing.

I'll have a look this weekend.
