Okay so i've finally managed to get these laser cut, as I mentioned previously they are from S/S 316L20SWG instead of the current 21SWG but its fairly close so I am willing to try it in my carb

Current list of people wanting these strips
- Tom - 2 OFF - sent
- Vegard - 3 OFF - sent
- Nic - 2 OFF
- Carl - 1 OFF
- bud666 & t2clubby - 4 OFF - sent
- Spridget - 1 OFF
- Mike - 2 OFF - sent
- Iain - 1 OFF - sent
- me - 2 OFF
- nogin - 1 OFF

that leaves 1 remaining on a first come first serve basis, 75p should easily cover postage and like i said i'm not after anything for the actual strips

please pm me and we can sort payment

Don't forget to add spacers (washers or whatever) under the spring when installing this, otherwise your (NON) bi-met assembly will wobble about.

I'm dragging this one up from the depths!

My rally car is N/A and running twin HIF4 carbs (twin 1.5" as fitted to MGBs, Allegros etc).
Whenever I get it really hot, ie straight off the motorway from flat out or having done a special test all in 1st gear the idle speed drops considerably from around 1150 to 750 is and it is a bugger to get going from a standstill. After a while of gentle driving it returns to normal.

One theory is that this bi-metallic jet holder is causing me a problem. The other is that icing at WOT is causing me a problem.

Thoughts of the learned members of the forum? Or anyone who has a theory!!

If it helps the engine is running a 'slightly' lumpy RE13OT cam and the carbs are on a steel Maniflow manifold.

Well, carb icing is obvious by feeling the carb body; when they 'ice' the whole body is very cold (don't expect to see icy frosting however - it's not often that obvious.
It will likelly be 'cool' but very cold is suggesting icing - from my limited experience of this...

So far I've not been in a position to get out and whip the bonnet off fast enough before the problem has 'cured' itself.

Well, get some 1/2" water hose, and (temporarilly) wrap it around the dashpots, then connect up to your heater tap, see if that helps?
