Mark, you may benefit from the latest MS2/Extra code as it will allow you to time the injection event. It may help with your idle problem.

Why? Unless you already have it or can get it really cheap I don't see the point if you plan on going port injection later. The Emerald won't do it.

Hmmm really..

So what does the ECU need to be able to port inject the a-series?

I would most likely go 8 port before port injection but i would like to keep my options open...

I know it sounds stupid but i like the features of the Emerald, and trying to find out the features of megasquirt is confusing the hell out of me. I'm struggling to find a clear list of features for it.

Its all very technical, and while i'm not the type of person to shy away from getting involved and learning the hands on way, for my first EFI based project it all seems abit too deep for me at the moment!

Can Megasquirt be connected to a stack dash/datalogger (like Jimsters) ?

The ECU needs to have a sequential mode specifically designed for it. As opposed to what some will say, a regular sequential mode cannot be used. And, as far as I know, only Megasquirt has such a mode. Canems has a semi-sequential mode but it's not enough to really deal with the AFR mismatch.

And I don't think that the stack dash/datalogger will work with Megasquirt but you'd have to contact them. They may be able to adapt their code to communicate with it. I know that Innovate has done it with theirs to log data from Megasquirt.

I take it I can run the code without any extra hardware?
