Made it back. Andy and I will post a rally report and some pics soon!

Rally went fairly well apart from a couple of mechanical issues..

Will post up a more thorough rally report when I have more time. But for now here's a couple of action shots.

The TM rolling road day is fast approaching, so time for the work to start!

When it got to my house it looked like this:



Didn't take long to get the head and manifolds of:



With no nasty surprises lurking, the head is on it's way to Benross for some meat taking out of the chambers to ger the CR down.

We'll be fitting an upgared Metro T3 Turbo. It's had a fully Benrossed exhaust manifold and elbow and has a billet actuator with a 12 pound spring.





We have a Jon Flanagan special plebnum and boost pipe, ready for an intercooler.




And a dump valve from Turbo Phil



It will be getting a MG Metro Cam:



A Peko Exhaust



We've fitted the van's original gear box with a 3.1:1 Crown wheel and pinion



But there's no point having loads of power if you can't get it into the gearbox. So we've got a preverto clutch setup and a pedal box for hydraulic clutch:




A pair of new master cylinders are in the post, as the two that are fitted look shot...

So... the fastest metro van in the country, here we come!

Managed to get the zaust of today. While I was crawling underneath it I had a look for rot and rust. I didn't find any, which is nice

The engine is nearly ready to come out, just need an intercooler to mock up then it will be coming out.

Done a little under bonnet detailing:



Also had the BFH out and straightened the headlight panel a little bit. It was taking up valuable intercooler space...

Removing all the crap under there should help with the 1/4 mile times...

I have just done a similar conversion to my metro turbo. my clutch was slipping like hell in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. So i got a clutch and flywheel kit from MED. 8-)

Do it right the first time and make it mint!!!!!!

Hi Andy,could you tell me what that plenum inlet pipe is off please?

It's one that Jon Flanagan knocked up (Giallofly). I sent him a pic of where I wanted the pipes to run and he made them up for me. I think it's just straight pipe with a clamping grove turned into it.

The up pipe has the bent end from the plenum on it.
