where does it say "no nitrous" it only states a class where nitrous is permitted, nowhere does it say it is not allowed.

This is the problem with rules, especially in motorsport. As gas is specifically allowed in a class it implies it's not in the others, but it doesn't say that.

Personally, I'd rather it was not used in the roadgoing classes, it takes something away from the cars for me. Anyone can make a car go fast on gas, and all the classes would end up being the same.

LOL this time of year again.
anyway, my thoughts for 2009
Personally I don't mind either way, but I think the rules need to be made clearer, as it's still a very grey area. The rules need to state if gas is or is not allowed in class D to make it fair.

Jim your right there are so many things that NOW need changing, as times have moved on so much, IE
the use of Gas in a road car, the use of 16v heads in a series engines. What tyres are allowed. What makes a road car? Other classes run slicks so why not make a class D for slicks as well? Any weight classes. O i could go on and on lol. But as normal nothing will ever get changed *smiley*

If people want to run nitrous I don't see a problem but for me class d is about road tyres and turbo no nitrous. I'll be waiting for mitp to run the slicks again.

So what you are saying is that you are scared of being beaten by an N/A car fitted with Nitrous?

What about superchargers.thats not a turbo.

I doubt there are many road going minis with NA engines and 100 shot of nitrous.

Fast Carl hit the nail on the head. the class should be 'Power Adders' which means turbo, or, supercharger, or, nitrous, and only one of either allowed.

What gets me is the current claases say that a road going car fitted with nitrous has to enter in the Race classes along with all those super light high powered purpose built machines, that have no chance of passing an MOT or sitting in traffic on the hottest day of the year!

What makes a road car fitted with a road legal and insured Nitrous system, a race car??????!!!!!.........

Sprocket im not really bothered if i get beat by anything gas or not. I go to beat my own times which is what i have done for the last 4 years so im happy.

As for nitrous i have a full setup in the garage so its something im going to use in the future.

no, because Dave is not going to change anything, he's too busy running the club and events to rewrite the rules to suit each and every individual car,

find a class your car fits in and run it in it, if you can't find a class, i suggest you either spanner for someone who can or get the fooking beers in,

To be honest, for me (when its actually up and running!) its going to be about beating my own time, etc etc.

I would rather enter into the Race class, and give myself the option to run slicks, nitrous blah blah blah to see what my car could do.

I could still do a "class D" style run and see compare my times.

Its only a pissy little trophy....

if you can use gas in D class then i'm entering B class as it does not say you cant use a turbo in B class
