Just got my new crank for 998 project. What do you think? Anyone care to guess who made it? Regards Dave no idea bit the 3rd and 4th big-end bearigns from the sprocket end are proper fucked and the 1st has heat marks I didn't say it was new and a 10 thou grind should fix it. Seriously, I put the picture up to show the counterbalance weights. It's from a ferrari F1 engine revving to god knows what and I thought it might be relevant. Regards Dave |

Theres some chap's experimenting with heavy metaling rover k-series cranks, didnt look to much into it as astronomical rev's and no torque isnt really my thing, but an interestign subject one the less! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

There is one of Slapheads cranks in the workshop, as you say paul, no counterbalance at all! They do the job though! Team www.sheepspeed.com Racing

I cannot understand how he dares to remove som much material form the area around the big end. Wouldn't oil pressure drop? On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

Front running 7s run minimal pressure, according to Max Hunter around 15psi. But I cant see that the vrank would cause low pressure as the oil is still compressed by the bearing itself. In theory it shouldnt need that extra metal around the big end, removing it does help with counter balance.
