No video haha. I'll get one when its all sorted.

Taking engine out. Something up with 2nd gear. Was fine at first but I think maybe the baulk ring is getting caught on the hub. Can here it on idle sometimes and it doesn't go into gear very well. Maybe it would get better but I won't chance it.

I also have the turbo oil pump issue. I thought it would be Fine but think oil is draining back. Holds 60psi cold and 40psi hot just have to turn it over for about 15 seconds before the gauge shows anything.

Annoying but oh well. Got a a few days at start of febuary where I can get it sorted. Got all the bits ordered to sort it. Swifty pump and I have some spare baulk rings or a spare gearbox.

Engine out!

This is the oil pump gasket out my engine. The lighter area are the marks from the pump that was in it, a minispares turbo pump.
I have marked on the gasket as a comparison so you can see the difference. The black area is a sharpie trace of the new swiftune competition pimp. Clearly showing that it actually has some gasket face between the inlet and outlet and the cam area.

Swiftune pump on the left.

Hopefully the swiftune pump will sort the oil pressure build up when cranking.

Now onto the gearbox, hope to diagnose that this evening.

Good luck with the box, let's hope it's something easy to find.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

This is the box issue.

What have I fucked up? Haha.

Baulk ring on 3rd and maybe a little on 4th move out and stick on the gear hub, causing the box to try and lock up. Kinda explains why 2nd was hard to select.

How much clearance do those baulk rings have? They look tight to me.

There is plenty of clearance between the gear and the baulk ring. They grip nicely. The baulk rings are NOS mk1 ones so very good, the best guess works could offer.

It's when the box is spinning it begins to lock up as the 3rd gear synchro moves onto the gear cone and starts trying to grip it.

I don't really get it.

I probably need to strip it completely.

I've got a SC clubman box I've been building that I might stick in instead.

Have you got the 1st/2nd hub centre in the right way round?

(and the 3/4 for that matter - but 1/2 is easier to get wrong and buggers up all the clearances, resulting in crunchy 2nd)

Yea, pretty positive I have.

I have messaged John at guessworks he says I need a different baulk ring on 3rd. Mine is to big. Need a used one and try that out.

This thread helps.

Back up and running again :).

I've put my spare box in that i'd just finished rebuilding and will sort the one that was in it when i get some time.

Some bits from Simon.

Also turned my old clutch into a RTS, decided to put this one in as its got a lighter flywheel on it.

TA daaaa

Second time lucky?

No so much, killed battery, main lead shorted against the starter housing. Heatshrink had worn through. My fault, shouldn't of had the lead touching the housing. Also must of nicked my cheapo oil pressure gauge hose so that pissed out oil. Oil pressure is spot on with the swiftune pump though.

Will get a better quality gauge or hose and i've ordered a battery.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

They did cost more lol.

The bag of ti weighed 890g so at 45% lighter with loctite, no spring washers and trimmed to suit i guestimate around 700-800g saved.

I've got everything that was swapped out so will weigh it all at some point. Not all of its gearbox stuff and i couldn't be bothered to weigh individually.

Not bad if your going all out weight wise. I plan to make the car lighter and have loads of bits to swap over.

About 10psi. What do we reckon?

I don't feel like winding it up much more it feels very quick on the road.
